Tip: It’s worth getting a pumice stone that’s got a handle because it means that you don’t have to put your hand into the toilet bowl/water. Plastic and wood found in the toilet seat should never be cleaned with pumice stones. Both materials are soft, scratched or crumbled. Price of pumice If your toilet is plagued by hard water marks, toilet bowl rings, and rust stains, you’re in the right place!

I found that vinegar, if left for a few hours, did a great job to loosen the accumulated. Then I can use pumice stone to remove the ring in the toilet (no chemicals are required). Where can I use pumice stone (not on the seat!) Porcelain is very hard, pumice does not damage the container or jar. It is important to follow the step #2 and not to press too much with pumice stones. Using pumice stone will not damage or scratch your toilet but be sure to use it correctly in the right area of the toilet. Pumice is my preferred tool for hard water stains and mold build-up.

Can You Clean a Toilet with a Pumice Stone?

Light pressure and repetitive movements should remove an unpleasant toilet ring, you will find that some pumice are ground and fall to the bottom of the toilet – do not worry, when finished it is rinsed. Drain the Bowl: Flush the toilet to lower the water level. This will expose the stained areas of the bowl. Dispose of the Pumice Stone: After use, rinse the pumice stone and allow it to dry. You can reuse it for future cleanings until it becomes too small to hold comfortably. Now that all the surfaces are wet, you can grab the pumice stone and start rubbing the stained surfaces with it. To know where to use pumice, you need to know the part of the toilet. The main part of the toilet is tanks and arches.

This is a one-week process, but in the end the tile looks new, white mold is removed. Sometimes he asks me for help, and I’m doing it really amazing. But you cannot use a pumice stone to clean the outside of the toilet, the seat and its lid (usually made from wood or plastic), and external regions of the cistern. If you were to rub these areas, you would scratch them with the pumice stone! What I however need you to understand is that a pumice stone will not permanently remove hard water stains from a toilet or any other fixture. As long as hard water flows to your house toilet rings and other stains will recur after being removed.

You can, however, use a pumice stone to remove horrid stains from a porcelain toilet bowl, and to take out rusty marks that are found inside a toilet’s cistern. Porcelain is white, hard and a natural substance over time. The seat and lid is an accessory that is usually made of plastic or wood. Pumice stone is one of the most useful tools for the bathroom, it works especially well on the toilet with the ring around the dishes. Aside from using a pumice stone to remove unsightly marks from a toilet bowl, you could also try white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, lemon juice, denture cleaning tablets, and even specialised toilet cleaners! As I have already mentioned, brown stains in a toilet are caused by presence of iron minerals in the water supplied to your house. The pumice structure is made of volcanic glass, and sometimes glass. The sandpaper like texture and light properties make it the perfect tool because it is so tough that it does a great job at scraping any kind of build-up or stain. If you make sure that you wet both the bowl and the stone before you begin and you continue to soak the surfaces throughout the cleaning process, your porcelain toilet shouldn’t get scratched.
