About this deal

The very latestin Samsungs line of flagship 8K Neo QLED range TVs and quite simply one of the best TVs money can buyis the stunning QE65QN900ATXXU, availableat the best price in the UK courtesy ofElectronic World TV, the home of cheap tvs. The effect is brightness, sharpness and contrast are fed with more information, and watching standard definition content may not initially ‘wow’, until you realise the TV is guessing about 30 million pixels. With that in mind, the results are mightily impressive. We uploaded the latest brightness measurements and uniformity photos for the Accelerated Longevity Test. The addition of Mini LED to the 4K QLED range worked wonders, and with this 8K model, the brightness in combination with the Quantum Dot panel is even more brilliant to behold. The colours in The Pursuit of Love (iPlayer, HLG) are varied and natural in appearance, the Christmas dinner scene in the first episode looks absolutely dynamite.

We have now started delivering right to your door! Alternatively you can collect free of charge from one of our 7 branches (see steps below) View TV beyond all boundaries with this Samsung 65” 8K smart TV. The QLED display on the QE65QN900BTXXU offers a resolution four times higher that 4K, so you don’t just watch TV, you become a part of it. Innovative Technology Super Surround Sound powered by Dolby Atmos: 12 TV speakers deliver best-in-class 3D surround sound We measured HDR brightness before calibration in the 'Movie HDR' Picture Mode with Brightness and Contrast at max, Color Tone set to 'Warm2', Local Dimming on 'High', and all other image processing disabled. It's likely going to lose its spot on our list of the best TVs to the newer Samsung QN900B 8K QLED TV that boasts new Shape Adaptive Light technology and built-in up-firing speakers that allow for immersive Dolby Atmos audio without the need for a soundbar, but it's still a top-performing QLED TV that's worth the cash. Samsung QN900A Neo QLED 8K TV: price and availabilityWith the arrival of its QN900A range, Samsung has essentially stepped into a new television category, giving its already high-end 8K displays a rather significant Mini LED upgrade. Because of this, Samsung's Neo QLED 8K lineup doesn't come cheap. It’s a familiar refrain and I’ll get it out of the way early. The QE65QN900A could do with a soundbar. The QN900A ships with two remotes: a standard one and a smart version that’s the better of the two. Turn it over and there’s a solar panel that uses ambient light to charge it – a clever little innovation that requires no batteries. Features Update 08/02/2021: We retested the local dimming feature with the latest firmware, version 1511 and updated the local dimming videos. Local dimming is slightly better than before, as the algorithms seem to spread bright objects across more dimming zones, reducing the appearance of blooming slightly. Overall zone performance hasn't changed, though.

An earlier version of this review incorrectly stated that we tested G-SYNC on an RX 6800. The text has been corrected. The 8K models boast the Neo Quantum Processor 8K that uses 16 neural network models to upscale images. As Samsung explains it, the 16 networks are 16 cooks in a kitchen, each with their own speciality as opposed to one or two cooks working on a range of recipes. Focusing on one thing brings specificity. Aside from this, Samsung's QN900A Neo QLED 8K is a television that's class-leading when it comes to design. With bezels that have been reduced to the point of nearly non-existent, speaker grills that are only visible from the side, and a minimalist stand that also provides additional functionality, the QN900A's design is what every TV manufacturer should aspire to. Samsung QN900A Neo QLED 8K TV: smart TV (Tizen OS) To cap it all off, the design of this QE65QN900ATXXUQLED TV is second to none, with its super thin bezel and stunning looks which samsung call an "Infinity Display".Modern 1080p content, however, looked excellent. Taking into consideration that one FHD pixel is stretched across 16 pixels on an 8K TV, Samsung's AI-powered Neo Quantum Processor 8K chip is necessary to stitch together these additional pixels in a way that's clean and natural looking, without any aliasing or fuzziness to speak of.

Update 08/02/2021: We retested the peak brightness with the latest firmware, version 1511. It's considerably brighter in real content, as well as most larger scenes, but small highlights aren't as bright as before. During our test runs with the new firmware we encountered issues with overheating, and had to break up our tests and let the TV cool down between each run. It overheated to the point that it started to impact picture quality. Perforated acoustic holes in the top and sides disperse audio, while the Infinity Screen offers edge-to-edge viewing with no distracting bezel. The rear of the TV is uniformly flat, and along with the detachable One Connect module, the QN900A is perfect for wall-mounting.Freeview Play is not present, but all the UK catch-up and on-demand apps are. Most of the major apps are here, too, with the likes of Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, Apple TV, BT Sport, Tidal, Spotify and NOW. Prime Video, Disney+ and Netflix support Atmos.

With YouTube the only place to easily find 8K content, watching the Ultimate Wild Animals Collection and the jump in resolution affords an exceptional detail levels. Whether it’s the fur of a deer, the wrinkly hide of an elephant or the scales of a lizard, you feel as if they’re right there in front of you. And heading the line is Samsung. The South Korean electronics firm has aggressively pushed the format, driving prices down to more agreeable if not always affordable levels.
