About this deal

Supported OS must be pre-installed in PC and updated to the latest version. USB port must be standard equipped. The WG-80 comes equipped with a 2.7-inch LCD monitor with horizontally extended 16:9 proportions and approximately 230,000 dots. The monitor’s AR (Anti-Reflection) coating minimizes annoying glare and reflections to assure a sharp, clear on-screen image even in the harsh sunshine often encountered during outdoor shooting. It also comes equipped with such convenient features as: the Outdoor View Setting mode, which easily sets the optimum monitor brightness level for a given lighting condition.

Press Release: Ricoh announces rugged, waterproof WG series digital compact camera for underwater, outdoor and industrial photography Auto Picture mode to automatically select the most appropriate shooting mode from 16 different scene modesB&H – B&H is a world renowned supplier of all the gear photographers, videographers, and cinematographers need and want to create their very best work. Furthermore, even during regular macro photography, the LED lamps automatically illuminate the subject, ensuring optimal lighting conditions. This feature is particularly advantageous as it allows you to shoot from an incredibly close distance of just 1 cm (0.03ft), granting you the ability to capture subjects in unprecedented proximity—an opportunity not easily replicated by SLR or smartphone cameras.

In this mode, the camera takes two pictures each time the shutter button is pressed, one with the flash off and the other with it on, letting you concentrate on composition without fiddling with the controls. * Available in Underwater Mode. When the camera detects low-lighting conditions in still-image shooting, this mode automatically raises the sensitivity up to as high as ISO 6400, making it possible to use a higher shutter speed and effectively minimize the adverse effect of camera shake and subject shake when dealing with poor lighting conditions. The WG-80 is designed for every imaginable outdoor environment and adds to the experience with features such as Underwater mode for underwater photography, and an Outdoor View setting that adapts monitor brightness to ambient lighting. We drop-tested and dunked the WG-80 in the sink, but didn't have the opportunity to take it out for any underwater imaging. The camera can survive at depths of up to 46 feet, withstand up to 220lb-ft of pressure, work at temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, and shake off drops from heights of up to 5.2 feet. 6.1mm (34mm full-frame), f/4.6, 1/400-second, ISO 125 Approx. 122.5 (W) x 61.5 (H) x 29.5 (D)mm /4.8 (W) x 2.4 (H) x 1.2 (D) inches (excluding operating and protruding parts)Curiously, the WG-80 omits any type of wireless connectivity. It's a head-scratching choice because on-the-go image transfer via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi has been standard on cameras for years. The Ricoh WG-80 features an autofocus system with nine focal points. This wouldn’t be much of an issue if you could choose which focal point you wanted to use. Unfortunately, you can’t. When you half-press the shutter in wide mode, you’re at the mercy of whatever the camera thinks you want to focus on. It’s often unreliable and not the fastest to find focus. This should be the most reliable feature in a point-and-shoot camera, and it’s not. Firstly, after capturing your photos, you have the option to further enhance them by retouching. One specific adjustment you can make is to reduce the size of faces relative to the rest of the composition. This post-shooting retouching process allows you to achieve a more balanced and proportional appearance in your images. Secondly, you can decrease the size of faces by approximately 5, 7, or 10 percent, depending on your desired outcome. If you’re thinking there would be no light coming through and therefore be impossible to shoot like this, you’d be right if it weren’t for the fact that the camera has six built-in LEDs circling the end of the lens to illuminate close objects. In addition, a menu option allows me to fine-tune the light output with five intensities, and according to Ricoh, it’s now double the brightness of its predecessor. Oddly, I can’t change intensity in Digital Microscope mode, but I can with regular macro shooting.
