About this deal

The optimum product was obtained by experimenting with different brands on the local market, and in 1950, the Ron Barceló brand was launched with the products Barceló Blanco and Dorado (white and gold rums respectively), which were an immediate success. Some 20 years later, Ron Barceló Añejo (a mature rum), was added to the portfolio. [3]

The series is a fine collection of reserves aged for an extended time in barrels from different latitudes, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to continue innovating, and offering consumers new and fascinating sensory experiences. Accompanied by graceful toasted oak scents, this rum is concocted in Mizunara Japanese barrels. Upon nosing, the woody and mellow sensations induce memories perceived in the palate with a long, spicy, and dry aftertaste, reminiscent of the nuances in a beautifully painted scenery. To reach international standards of energy efficiency and environment protection, it also made important investments in infrastructure, training and human capital, which led to generating energy through solar panels and biomass, building a carbon dioxide (CO2) recovery plant and fertilising cane fields with a by-product of distillation called vinasse, which is rich in nutrients. An iconic brand, close to its communityThe liquid delivers aromas of melted caramel, plum, vanilla, and maple honey. The brand has used maple wood and an artisanal distillation process to offer rare sensations. Ron Barceló was certified by the independent body, the Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) as the first rum to gain carbon neutral certification for the company and all its products. Long before sustainability became a talking point, Ron Barceló minimised its dependence on fossil fuels, ensuring that nearly 90% of the electricity it consumes comes from renewable or green sources, such as solar or biomass energy. It also continues to recapture all of the carbon dioxide from fermentation, transforming it into food grade carbon dioxide for use in fizzy drinks. These attributes are honoured while remaining mindful of the responsibility that accompanies being the benchmark in a particular domain. Barceló’s rum, the Dominican brand most awarded in the world, is also the first to be accredited as Carbon Neutral, leading the way towards a brighter future –caring for the environment and supporting local communities as a socially responsible company committed to the highest causes. Ron Barceló, which recently ranked as number six in The Spirits Business’ top 10 biggest selling rum brands of 2022, is the only rum produced with 100% sugarcane juice from its own plantations in the Dominican Republic and was first created by Julián Barceló in 1929. Thanks to the careful preparation of each product, adapting to the consumers’ tastes around the world, and to an international marketing strategy, Ron Barceló now reaches countries on five continents. These include competitive markets such as Russia, the United States, Spain, Germany, Czechia, China, Chile, Colombia or Peru.

In addition, to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of the launch of Ron Barceló Imperial, the range will be completed by Barceló Imperial Premium Blend Rum, a special compilation of old Barceló Imperial reserves, matured in selected American oak barrels and French oak casks.

Once the blend is achieved, Mizunara Cask is aged in virgin Japanese oak barrels to provide the complexity and unique flavour that distinguishes this exuberant rum. Barceló Imperial Mizunara Cask was born to fascinate the most demanding palates. Spirits importer and distributor Emporia Brands has added the world’s first carbon neutral rum, Ron Barceló, to its UK portfolio.

These few are difficult to find. Ron Barceló is driven by an innovative instinct, one that is directed towards the surprisingly rare because it is convinced that this is the way to tell better stories. I was sent a bottle of Ron Barcelo Rum so that I could talk about the brand with some experience. I can’t tell you about how it tastes if I haven’t tried it. I received the Imperial which has a great lingering flavor. Even the bottle is beautiful.Nowadays, Ron Barceló SRL. still produces only Ron Barceló, which is sold in over 50 countries, ranking it the 4th largest exporter of rum in the world. [4] Rum elaboration plant [ edit ] Today, the company is one of the largest contributors to the Dominican Republic in terms of investments, eco-friendly commitments, fiscal contributions, and high-quality standards towards local and international consumers. According to Galíndez, Barceló Imperial Porto Cask is the first of these rums to be made available, with a light, silky and slightly sweet style.
