About this deal

Before bedtime: Many people find that reading before bedtime helps them unwind and relax, which can promote better sleep. I knew everything happened for a reason. I just wished the reason would hurry up and make itself known.” Christina Lauren, Beautiful Bastard 2. Colleen Hoover, 1979 – Photo ofColleen Hoover

Holy shit this was GOOOOOOD!!! I'm bummed this author only has 2 books out at the moment but so glad to have found such a brilliant and funny author! There was a mention of when Danny specifically started liking Charlie which is good because if he didn't, that would have been weird since he knows Charlie from when she was way younger and it possibly would have made a few people uncomfortable if they didn't know that. And as if all of that wasn’t irritating enough, they jump from being super secret office lovers to a loved up couple at work with no reveal, no reaction…nothing. Gah. Frankly it was such a waste. Perhaps a next book exploring the heroine’s relationship with her friend Cat needs to be written. That's not the real issue, it's that despite some nice 3-4 star banter and a fresh voice from a fairly likable heroine it gets derailed by the H and h. H is strong, silent type and very, very good at distancing himself except when he want to have sex so little voice from him at all. They reminded me of Sandy and Danny (Grease reference) and their massive Failure to Communicate or get it wrong.Lauren received her doctorate in neuroscience and studied neurodegeneration in aging before she started writing full-time. Christina Hobbs was a counselor in a junior high school before she started writing full-time. The two consider themselves best friends and work well together. The Beautifulseries, starting with Beautiful Bastard, and the Wild Seasonsseries, starting with Sweet Filthy Boy, are the most like TL Swan. We have Danny, the “hero” who in the first 30% of the book has sex with two other women, and talks about getting hard staring at a waitress. We are constantly shown a parade of women rubbing against him and flirting, and he does absolutely nothing to discourage it. Then the first time he has sex with the heroine, he asks if she’s on the pill so he can skip wearing a condom…keep in mind, he was with TWO OTHER WOMEN within 2-3 weeks of this. This man must be CRAWLING with STIs…just crawling. He has absolutely no redeeming qualities, no depth, nothing. At 41 years old I just can’t believe he does nothing but think about sex with women and apparently gets hard instantly. He needs to see a doctor. The only time they might publish something is if it went to court such as an employment tribunal, but that would take months and even then the media would only report what had been revealed in court.

He lives in a London mansion with holiday homes worldwide, and I rent a room in a flat-share with my best friend and mice. I was so ready to give this a 1 star just because of that twist but it turns out I was wrong and all is just a misunderstanding. Vor acht Jahren habe ich den Fehler gemacht, mit ihm zu flirten, und er hat mich abblitzen lassen ... und zwar richtig. Taming Mr. Walker was a fun read. Our protagonist, Charlie, works in IT and has a massive chip on her shoulder about her career prospects. Compounding this is her brother, Tristan, and his best friend, Danny—ultra-successful businessmen™. Furthermore, Charlie is attracted to Danny and has been rejected by him in the past. Danny is washboard-abs fit, ludicrously good-looking, super-successful and eye-wateringly wealthy—basically every male love interest in these types of books ever. If it ain't broken, don't fix it and all that, but it wouldn't hurt to mix things up a little either, which, unfortunately, this book doesn't. This is a giggle out loud listen, and Danny is as swoon-worthy as they come. I thoroughly enjoyed the lurch from situation to situation, with misunderstandings, mis-readings and hot sex galore.

You lose yourself, Erica, because with the right person, who you become together is something so much greater, more than you could even realize right now.” Meredith Wild, Hardwired 6. Victoria Quinn Same goes with Charlie who can't seem to find a way to properly communicate without being angry or assuming the worse. The plot was just as shitty. Both were with other people when they started being physical. No good secondary characters, absolutely ridiculous plot tangents (she sings and writes her own music and towards the end her song is used as the main song in a James Bond movie….hahahaha…ok. As if every Bond song hasn’t been by a huge superstar of their time). There is nothing but sex, most of it a rinse/repeat of aggressive fingering, hard screwing, and lots of mentions of him filling her up. Ok then.
