About this deal

Three characters are introduced to us: Rupert, a newlywed who tragically perishes on the battlefields of Holland, Florence, a young woman who finds the love of her life in the brother of the boy she had always had a crush on, and Max, a young guy who has intense dreams and in-depth recollections of a life that he lived before his time and lost. Desperate to understand why he is haunted by such terrible visions, Max embarks on a journey that leads him to Cornwall and a man named Rupert Dash. Australia, 1995 Florence receives a letter from someone she has never met, who lives on the other side of the world. A promise that he will return to her. London, 1988 Since childhood Max has suffered from a recurring nightmare.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster Canada for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. Florence receives a letter from someone she has never met, who lives on the other side of the world. This stranger says he remembers a life that belonged to another before him.Read their story -- and see why JOJO Moyes says that Nobody does epic romance like Santa Montefiore. If you look at the Facebook posts about Santa Montefiore's books, it is usually the ladies who read them. But sporadically, a male reader also appears. Like myself. Bridie Doyle, daughter to Castle Deverill's cook, cherishes her friendship with Kitty. Yet she can't help dreaming of someday having wealth, having glamour, having... more. And when she discovers Kitty's darkest secret, Bridie finds herself growing to resent the girl in the castle who seems to have it all.

Now this book, The Girl in the Castle, captured me immediately. If you like stories set in Ireland, reading a bit of the historical fiction interspersed about the Irish War for Independence and a bit of ghost appearances to boot - you will love this book. Montefiore succeeds again in describing the rugged nature of Ireland in such a way that there is the desire to immediately leave for a trip there.

THE GIRL IN THE CASTLE is set around 1910 and lets us into the lives of aristocrats and the lives of servants in a castle. Inspired by a friend’s (Simon) story about reincarnation and the possibility that we may have lived before, author Montefiore has penned an incredible multi timeline (1944, 1988 and 1995) where the thread of Simon’s spiritual adventure is woven throughout. It doesn’t matter whether you believe in past lives or not, this can be simply enjoyed as a wonderful story. Florence receives a letter from someone she has never met, who lives on the other side of the world. This stranger says he remembers a life that belonged to another before him. Could this be the one person Florence has waited over fifty years to meet again?
