About this deal

In the early 2000s, a hugely entertaining new game genre emerged. Taking elements of the platformer and the old arcade adventure, titles like Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter brought humour, imagination and structural innovation to the usually dire family gaming sector. And while the previous Skylander titles no doubt drew plenty of inspiration from these legendary releases (the series has its roots in the old Spyro the Dragon adventure platformers after all), it is Swap Force that really re-captures the magic.

During the era of Giants, I think that’s when Skylanders was at its peak popularity and basically there was nothing to hate. As well, the Skylanders Universe online world, as well as 3 super addicting mobile apps, just kept the fun going wherever you were. Arguably, that time was perfect. However, after a certain point, 2 of the 3 mobile apps weren’t being kept up to date and one was completely thrown out the window, but thankfully the best app (you know the one: Lost Islands) was still being attended to, kept getting updated, and it was still addicting. Then came what was the most devastating withdrawal of the entire series: removing the online world that was Spyro’s Universe. After that, about 30% of my interest in Skylanders was slightly shattering, and was a bit more into Minecraft from then on, and the console games were only kinda fun, but I still played lost Islands on a daily basis. Then < 1 month before SWAP Force was released, I hit a huge depression and deep dive in my self-esteem, I stopped playing Lost Islands and was barely excited about the arrival of SWAP Force. In fact, my mental state was so rough I cared more about my Skylanders looking like their toy forms than them being strong in game, so I formatted so many of my Level 15, fully upgraded, gold ranked Skylanders from the previous games, and with that, playing SWAP Force became more of a way for me to be un-self-conscious than actually have fun, since I started feeling super insecure and decided to completely hide my love for the series. After that year, I was forced to go to boarding school, where I only had the little times I had at home to play Trap Team, but that’s a different story. Either way, when Trap Team came out, I’d never thought I’d play Swap Force again. Team Survival Mode – Two-player co-op horde style mode where a team must battle through waves of enemiesThe story line is clearly geared for 8 year olds so I usually skip listening to the characters make silly jokes, but it's 100% appropriate for kids and still plenty of fun for adults! I bought this game as a gift for myself and my boyfriend, as we've started playing fun video games together. I'm not one for the gore stuff and prefer kid-like games. Skylanders is definitely that, but with so many options in characters and hidden secrets that it's a challenge for adults as well! Skylanders Swap Force: Say hello to Activision's 272 new stars. (Date Posted - Mar. 7, 2013). Computer And Video Games.

Blast Zone's name is a reference to the word "blast zone", an area that has been affected by an explosion. However, it is possible to finish the story mode and play all the other modes without buying any extra characters. There are elements of the map you won't see, but none will prevent you from following the main adventure. Every 100 years, four ancient creatures known as the Elementals, The Flashfin, the Terrasquid, the Frost Hound, and the Tree Spirit come together to replenish the magic in Skylands via a volcano known as Mount Cloudbreak. During the last eruption ceremony, something tragic happened. Kaos' Mother Kaossandra aimed to destroy the volcano, but a team of Skylanders defended it. After that, the volcano erupted, sending these Skylanders to Earth. The volcano's eruption gave these Skylanders the ability to swap their tops and bottoms, transforming them into the SWAP Force. This is the only console game where Persephone is completely absent. Instead, the Power Pods take over her role of provide Skylanders upgrades. The 3DS version of SWAP Force is the first to include voice acting, something that was absent in the previous 3DS titles. There is a glitch that sometimes occurs in the Wii version where the flame on top of his head won't ignite. In the 3DS version, a celebration is being held at the first day of Spring. As of Superchargers, this is the only game with a known date in its events, though it is unknown if Skylands' calendar is the same as any of Earth's. This marks the first Skylanders game to be released in North America before other regions. In the previous two games, Australia got the installments first.

Even the first Skylanders had areas that were gated off until you had a character of a certain element, and often the only way to get a character of that element was to buy one. Now Skylanders: Swap Force adds a whole new wrinkle, and it’s one that’s going to hit you in the wallet. Cordeira, Jim (October 15, 2013). "Skylanders SWAP Force review for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U".
