Wireless keyboards serve many masters. They're great if you're trying to declutter, or like typing with your keyboard on your lap. Mobile productivity hounds who want gear that’s ready for travel swear by them, too, and some models let you swap one typing peripheral among desktops, laptops, and tablets. In the vast majority of situations, there’s no difference between using a keyboard with a wireless connection and a standard wired one. The only time you’ll notice is when it’s time to charge it—or when you forget to. Any mediocre keyboard can function properly as an input device. However, a high-quality option is more accurate, faster, and a lot more responsive, as well as more satisfying and more comfortable to type on. If it's a wireless keyboard, you'll find that the higher quality ones have better connectivity as well. In fact, we recommend getting one even if you don't spend all day typing away at your computer.

Are you looking for an affordable, compact, and portable keyboard with a switch that has a nice and short travel distance? One thing to note is that it comes in two versions.. The Logitech G815 is basically the same keyboard, but it has no wireless capabilities which allows you to save on some cash. Features of the Logitech G815/915 Android 7.0 Nougat, macOS 10.15, Chrome OS, Windows 8, Windows 7, iPadOS 13.1, Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, Windows 11, iOS 11, Windows 10Much like when you're using the best mouse, the best keyboard will change the way you interact with your computer and elevate your experience overall. Having tested more than our share of keyboards, we can truly say that there is massive difference between an excellent keyboard and most of the cheap ones you find online. The action is good and the feel responsive, though it’s not in the same stellar league as the Logitech Craft or Microsoft’s own Surface keyboard. We’d also prefer slightly larger function keys. However, what you lose there you gain in the extremely accessible volume and mute controls and customisable buttons above the touchpad. It’s one very usable and versatile bit of kit. The new G80-3000N RGB is a reinvention of that classic, designed to appeal to today’s more demanding users. Carryovers include the classic ergonomic keycaps and original typing feel, but these are now combined with a much slimmer, more contemporary housing, 16-million colour illumination and state-of-the-art electronics. Does the new model actually feel like the classic model? We’ve not used a G80-3000 for more than 15 years but the reworked model certainly felt familiar once we started tapping away on it. It also includes a flat plastic wrist pad, that offers a little bit of support, but would be better if it was padded or textured. The switches are Cherry MX Low Profile Speed switches. It looks just like a regular Cherry switch but around the cross stem is a ring of plastic.

Chiclet: These use the flatter “Scrabble-tile” keys introduced with Sony Vaio and Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops. These generally have a shorter travel and a lighter action, which can improve typing speeds when you get used to the overall feel. Compact: These keyboards have all the extra keys, such as the numeric pad, removed, and are designed to be as small and light as possible. In this way, they reduce the space they take up on your desktop and are easier to travel with. Its best feature is its deep memory foam wrist rest, which is made up of multiple layers of foam – just like a premium mattress – and a knitted fabric cover to provide genuinely luxurious typing comfort.Low Profile keyboards have a shorter keyboard body and shorter switches. When a keyboard is called low profile, it may have either a short body with regular switches, regular body with low profile switches, or both. They are ABS plastic keycaps that are extremely sturdy. One issue that people have encountered is breaking the keycaps when they’re taken out.
