Before you start painting, you’ll want to gather any tools that you’ll need. Some may require a bit of preparation beforehand. For example, if you want to paint your patio slabs with an outdoor latex paint, then you will need a paint brush (a good quality brush). If the paint is peeling or chipping off of the patio slabs, then the surface needs to be primed and sanded before painting. Once these preparations are complete, it’s time to get started on painting the patio slabs! Prep your patio for painting If you have a small area to treat, start with soap and water, TSP, paint thinner, or paint stripper. These methods are cheap, easy, and effective. Just remember to protect yourself and your surroundings, especially when using TSP or paint thinner/stripper. Also read: Can You Paint The Render walls? Here’s How! How to choose the right color for my concrete surface?

Once the paint has been successfully removed, thoroughly rinse the concrete surface with water to remove any remaining paint stripper or residue. This will help neutralize the chemicals and prevent any potential damage to the concrete surface. For all who swear by vinegar, I urge you to spot test an area first to see how it affects your surface, but again, I don’t recommend it.Advertised as a paint-and-primer-in-one, I can accomplish my DIY and upcycling projects faster. With 2-3 coatings, the paint gives me smooth coverage on textured surfaces. For me, the satin gray pewter shade has a subtle sheen making the concrete structure look cleaner. If the area is huge, use a method that covers the most square footage efficiently, such as a power washer (outdoor), sandblaster, or concrete grinder (indoor/outdoor). Let’s walk you through the necessary steps for spray painting a concrete surface. Step 1: Clean the Concrete If you’re looking for more modern or contemporary patio slabs, then you’ll have much more freedom in terms of colour selection. For example, bright yellows or turquoises would be perfect for this type of patio slab design as they bring lots of light into the space.

If you’re working in a confined space or near other objects, you may also want to use a piece of cardboard or a plastic sheet to shield the surrounding area from overspray. All you have to do is type in the name of the colour you would like or search through our colour palettes until you find the shade you are looking for.
