Listening to the songs as I read the scenes that followed added something special to every single one. I hope the author continues to do this for all of the books in the series! The world building of the mafia school was not as interesting to read about as I would’ve liked. It dragged. It became boring. The Heir is more than just a romance between two people. It's the set up for an entire series. We're given insight into a character that will be explored further in the future and an introduction to other characters that will have their stories told in subsequent books as well. Though it took up a good portion of this installment, I sincerely enjoyed the time spent on world building and character introductions. It's completely necessary for the books to come, and it's so well done that I didn't mind at all. Sophie is interested in a variety of hobbies, from attending comedy shows live to body building and hiking. She loves hanging out with her kids and her husband. The ideal day for this writer would be going to Harry Potter World with the kids, going for an evening of dancing with her husband, and then settling down to relax with a book in hand and a huge bag of salt and vinegar flavored potato chips.Future heirs, accountants, enforcers, and spies from all of the criminal organizations around the world train at Kingmakers Academy for three years with the understanding that they aren't to fight, maim, or kill anyone from rival organizations while in attendance. Anyone that breaks the rules will be punished accordingly. The punishment is an eye for an eye in all matters, including everything from a punch in the face to cold-blooded murder. paralleled perfectly with the first emotion he felt after years of unfeeling was the guilt that plagued him when seeing Nessa cry. And listen, I'm a dancer, I love reading books where dancing is included. But this was so stupid that it did not work for me. I am thrilled that Sophie Lark is not finished with the amazing “Brutal Birthright” world she created, a Mafia world that is this complex and phenomenally built. I loved every book in that series and this series, the “Kingmakers” is a spinoff of that series, their children, the next generation, the Mafia Princes and Princesses who will fill their parent’s shoes when the time is right and become Mafia Kings and Queens. No worries if this is your first Sophie Lark book, this book does stand on its own, everything you need to know is detailed in the story. Because of the family dynamics and connections Anna and Leo grew up together and became good friends. The two are graduating high school, despite being accepted into Juilliard Anna rather go to the Kingmakers Academy, a training facility for the underground elite from all over the world, including the Irish and Italian Mafia, Polish Braterstwoa and the Russian Bratva, and where Anna goes so does Leo. These two grew up as cousins, so it felt strange when their feelings morphed beyond friendship, neither one wanted to act on those feelings, afraid to ruin their lifelong friendship. Things start off great for them in their new school, it is a whole new adventure for them, but there are instant rivals and even an enemy to the family, Dean Yenin, Leo’s estranged cousin. Leo’s Mom and her Brother Adrian had a falling out when the families were at war and it cost Leo’s father a lot, because of that and his own reasons he holds a grudge. Dean is cunning and is determined to take everything away from Leo. This is one angsty romantic suspense, it is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, twists and turns, action, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions, and some steamy romance. Sophie Lark, thank you for another amazing story and a wild and thrilling emotional rollercoaster ride. he is a brooding, polish, grumpy blondie with A LOT of tattoos, she is a sunshine ballerina who brings out the best of him 🫠💘

I have theories galore, couples I’ve put together in my had , and characters I already need stories for. I annoyed that I’m annoyed by this book. I’ve been enjoying Sophie Lark’s work and I was expecting this to be a win since majority of her books have been a win.Leo is my new husband😋💘🦋, he's seriously so yum. I practically live for his personality. He's so charming aahhhh. He has a killer body and face + a killer personality, what do you want more? I love how he and his dad both have the same playful personality but still are different in some way or another.

While Holly and Byron say that they are going to just remain friends, it appears that actions speak louder than words here. The two are constantly hooking up and taking the clothes off the other one. It’s clear that they have incredible chemistry together and they probably would be a fantastic couple if things got serious. Anyways pls tell me why I end almost every review with anyways I’m probably going to continue the rest of the series but I don’t really recommend this If you're like me, and you haven't read the parent series, don't worry! I somehow missed that this was a spinoff series, and I never felt lost or like I was missing out on anything. The author has a way of including the relevant bits from previous stories in a way that gives you all the information you need and at the same time, makes you interested in finding out more.They think they can have whatever they want—expensive watches, gold chains, phones that cost more than I make in a month. Apparently, they decided that they wanted my sister. Pls Remember that this is a dark romance kidnapping story! The characters in this book are not 100% in the head so keep that in mind while reading this review and reading this book! After reading the next book, I noticed that the author has a sex sequencing recipe. And after sex the guy just has to ask “You like that, baby girl?” Ugh! Why? 😖🤢 When it comes to life, Lex has chosen an unusual path. She’s not only a heart breaker when it comes to men, but she makes her living as a thief. She’ll do whatever it takes to pull the wool over men’s eyes and feels entitled to take what she wants from them. She’ll be even more interested in taking it if it is expensive. If I start talking about Nessa then I won't be able to shut up about how flat she was as a character so I'm going to stop myself right here.
