About this deal

This is an entertaining series. It’s got the perfect mix of the personal lives of the characters mixed in with the police procedural drama. The team is composed of multiple interesting characters and Ellis works hard to flesh them all out. AN ISOLATED HOUSE WITH A TERRIBLE PAST. IS HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF FOR THE NEW FAMILY LIVING THERE? The quote “Beware the fury of a patient man” is attributed to John Dryden, a renowned literary figure of the 17th century. Dryden, often regarded as one of the greatest English writers, was known for his plays, poems, and critical essays. This quote is believed to have originated from his play, “Absalom and Achitophel,” written in 1681. The quote encapsulates a key theme in the play, highlighting the extraordinary force that lies dormant within a patient individual. Unveiling the Profound Meaning Literally the only book in which the main characters worries about what would happen to their 'team' if the worst happened was warranted and NONE of the main or even semi recurring characters was killed off! No one that any reader could have had a vested emotional interest in died. Now, her husband’s lost his job, the children are bullied at school, and someone’s prowling around the garden at night. Someone who wants them gone.

A story line with a build up over a few books, and then lots of classic heart warming comments by each of the characters which make you think they're the one that's going to die next. I was expecting real heart rending, nail biting scenes and story, I don't think I've read a book with such a let down anti climax as this. source: Dawn til Dusk. Tate Ellington is also given an interesting role as Clark, the man with more than a driving ban to hide. Moments of introspection and deep sadness are allowed to poke their ways to the surface in his micro-expressions, that wouldn’t be noticed if you weren’t looking for them. Which, of course, Tom is.With strong performances from the cast, a slow burn mystery with dead ends and unexplained avenues and possibility of disaster lurking just out of sight, A Patient Man is a well-constructed thriller which deserves to be seen not only on the strengths of its convictions, but also for what it aims to achieve – with resounding success. And never waste anything. Never bin your unsuccessful work, or old notebooks with scribbled thoughts and ideas in them. I re surrected a whole novel with new characters and even made it a different genre, but it worked and was far better than the original . I t was hard work but having that basic plot-line was hugely helpful. Matt’s best friend Will and his wife Kate moved to Holland House to put their past behind them. But Kate’s mental state is deteriorating and she’s obsessed with the tragic history of the house and an old doll she finds in the garden. The Patient” is the type of elongated series that prevails more with its sentimentality than its dramatic execution, in part because the former is more precious than the latter. Its heart is in the right place, especially as a text that believes in therapy and empathy. But its mind wanders in circles when making one get what it’s trying to say.

Serial killer kidnaps therapist” was obviously the elevator pitch’ … Domhnall Gleeson and Steve Carell in The Patient. Photograph: Suzanne Tenner/FX The Patient,” created by Joel Fields and Joseph Weisberg, tries to engage true crime culture by finding its own snazzy way into the mind of a killer while engaging with our hunger to psychoanalyze a disturbed character. The premise of it runs out, leading to a runtime that does a disservice to the pieces that can be effective within one man’s quest to get his captor to learn what it feels like to be in someone else’s shoes. "The Patient" is a long journey to create empathy in the darkest of minds, but overall it makes for an overlong, dull mind game. Kevin Ward‘s slow burn thriller is a good example of how big names and budgets aren’t always needed to create an interesting and twisted film. Strategic Timing and Calculated Action: Patience enables an individual to discern the opportune moment for action. By observing and analyzing situations, a patient person gains valuable insights and information, allowing them to make well-informed decisions. They recognize that timing is crucial and that strategic action can yield more significant results. This calculated approach ensures that their actions are purposeful and impactful, making their fury all the more formidable. I was so frustrated by this book though. So much that I may have a slight clue about the ending. Only if I stop and think about it. What really annoyed me is the fact that although some people cussed, they didn't actually use cuss words. But it’s not “all killer” in the ways you may imagine. As established early on, Sam is a serial murderer who kidnaps Alan, chains him up in the basement of his home, and insists that Alan cure him of his desire to take the lives of people he deems offensive. Minor spoiler alert: Yes, we see Sam engage in some rather violent behavior. But The Patient is not a “murder show.” It does not fixate on the grisly nature of Sam’s crimes or a police investigation into those crimes or, refreshingly, any sexual compulsions that may be driving Sam’s tendencies. Creators Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg, who gave us the masterpiece that was The Americans, steer all the way around serial-killer tropes to create a limited series that offers surprising twists and thoughtful nuance in equal measure. Even the setting got my emotions bubbling over with fright and you never know when a sniper will next pull the trigger. One : the location. The Fenlands are very atmospheric, misty and remote, and I do try to make the fens and the marshes character s in their own right. Be it with a publisher, or by self-publishing, remember the importance of two things : accurate research, and good editing.
