I don’t mean to dismiss the issues being discussed here, but they seem petty and juvenile. It’s 2020, and there are more important matters to deal with than making fun of someone’s body type, trying to one up your friends out of jealousy, or fighting over a guy who’s not even worth it to begin with. The Dare (Briar U, #4) by Elle Kennedy is a flirty, fun, slow burn, college sports romance that is captivating and hilarious. I absolutely loved Conor Edwards! Something funny and unexpected always seems to fly out of his mouth, but he also has such a beautiful heart. I couldn't get enough of these fabulous characters, and love this series so much! I am a huge fan of Elle Kennedy's books , even though I’m not huge sports fan. but this author just knows how to draw you into her characters, I love how this author knows how to get you to laugh out loud …..come on Elle Kennedy wrote (Off-Campus series) now the (Briar U Series) Which is just what happens between Conor and Taylor. All it takes is a bet and a fake relationship that turns into a chance at something real. I actually need more books like The Risk. More college romances with women that have fun, are spunky and just interesting in an unique way. And having guys like Jake by their sides doesn’t hurt. He was the epitome of a book boyfriend and I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next.

As Brenna & Jake spend more time together it's becoming difficult to resist him. Harvard is Briar's biggest rival, and her father and friends would freak out if they knew they were sneaking around together. She couldn't fall for a player on their rival team, but fate was cruel because soon he's all she thinks about. He makes her feel too vulnerable, and when he touches her, her will power dissolves completely. He's absolutely irresistible! Their chemistry is undeniable, but it's the emotional connection that surprises them both. There's definitely something between them, and Jake wants to see where it goes. It's official, he wants Brenna to be his.Conor and his swoony, smart, sexy ways smoothed over Taylor’s insecurities. And Taylor did the same for Conor. I loved how they worked things through, even when it wasn’t an easy discussion. Oh, sure, there were some bumps in the road, but in the end, Taylor and Conor’s love and friendship pulled through—with a little help from their friends. It was somewhat hard to say good-bye to all these amazing characters, each with their own unique personality’s… I will once again say a prayer to the almighty book god, that Elle Kennedy start another college/sports series soon 🙏🙏 ensues along with some raging insecurities (more on that later), and eventually, real romance happens.

dean and allie tho?? those two really served in their novella. it was funny, cute, wholesome, honestly all things good besides the miscommunication In my opinion, no one writes a sports romance as impeccable as Elle Kennedy. The Risk is Briar U’s second instalment and was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Elle’s writing is always right on point and written with such precision, passion, thought and creativity. I absolutely loved The Risk from start to finish… it was positively perfect. Now I must be completely honest I’ve been waiting & praying that Conor would get his book since he was introduced in (The Play)… And wallah, praying to the book god does really work 😈😈 Conor is the resident manwhore at Briar U (think Dean 2.0 😂) but lately the women he’s been with have him feeling a bit bored.. So when a gorgeous girl goes up to him during a frat party and asks him to pretend to have sex with her? It’s the most exciting thing he’s done in a while. This leads to a fantastic fake relationship between Conor and Taylor. And even though there’s always an underlying chemistry between the two, they become genuine, incredible friends. And the bromance between Logan and Garrett?? If I didn't ship Garrett and Hannah together, I'd would consider Logan x Garrett as a good pairing. As a big fan of Off Campus, I was looking forward to Briar U ever since it was announced. Sadly, I found the first book to be not on the same level as the main series. However, the little Brenna/Jake hints from The Chase really made me interested in this second installment.

I stayed up until 5 the morning so I could finish this sizzling contemporary romance. This is just a small taste of what you are in for in The Risk: And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel—I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me. I think that there might be some who can relate to Taylor, but her narrative completely missed the mark. It’s neither powerful nor uplifting. I LOVED their blunt honesty every time they couldn't help themselves and told each other that they were hot. They both knew it and that confidence carried over to the reader. I could feel it and that honesty was so freaking attractive to me. You see, I wasn't expecting anything out of this novella collection, but damn, this was a whole other level of "go girl, give us nothing".

THE RISK’ is the second full length romance novel in Elle Kennedy’s ‘Briar U' which are a series of interconnected stand-alones. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives' Logan and Grace — 2★. They are my second favorite couple and this part could have rated higher if not for the recycling of the previous Christmas story. Anyway, the added parts were good so I don't have much to complain about here. I kinda forgot how dorky Logan and Grace are, but they are so so cute I could take these silly stories forever! Also, John Logan finally being happy? that's all i needed to know. ignoring the flaws, it was fun. it had me laughing till the end. if i started oc with this one then i would have liked the book bc i wouldn't have met the characters before Conor was just utter perfection and my opinion about him didn't change throughout the book. He's probably one of my favourites within this series. Just his big heart and kindness, and protectiveness towards Taylor throughout cemented me towards him. Stupid comments notwithstanding, he’s a sweetheart. He has his own set of insecurities, but he’s also a goofball and knows how to cheer someone up. He was so easy to empathise, and I truly enjoyed his story and character development. I might’ve even teared up.

EDIT: I knew it was coming that one day I wake up and think about this book again and hate most about it. So I actually re-read HannahGarrett's novella again and felt sooo disappointed. Love the idea of them being the first book in the series and then, the last book ending with their chapters, but Elle Kennedy did (all) the characters so dirty... 😭 There are things that I still liked. I mean, I genuinely liked Conor. And the way his story unfolded was satisfying. Not my favorite EK hero but I liked him a lot. It was funny because Garrett said his relationship with Hannah was so mature and good and yada yada yada and then everything went down the drain. I'm like a kid at a candy store when it comes to Elle Kennedy books. Every time she releases a new one, I do a happy squeal and a dance around the room. I just can't help myself. Her books are my happy place. I'm gonna make a list of them and halfway through I realized it just turned into a rant I'm sorry...Well unless you are Elle Kennedy. No one wants unnecessary drama, we already have that in OG books. I can honestly say that in my personal opinion Elle Kennedy redeemed herself in my eyes, Cuz I really enjoy the 1st book in this series as I did this one
