About this deal

Every aspect of the game is designed to ensure that kids develop a deeper understanding of multiplication and get the practice needed to master it. By varying the tasks and the ways the times tables are presented, kids not only stay motivated, but get the opportunity to develop their abilities in different contexts. Times tables apps are among the most common math apps, but Times Tables Hero feels fresh and encourages 'just one more go'. 5 stars." - educationalappstore.com review Times Tables Hero includes the features we like to see for an app to maximise its potential in the classroom. Multiple users can play the app under their names to compete on the leaderboards. There is a practice mode for teachers to use the app in tuition and class discussion. By customising the length of games, the numbers covered, and other aspects of the challenge, teachers can match the play experience to their lesson objectives. Kids need to practice to become fluent in knowing their times tables, but this can be difficult to promote, and learners rarely do well under duress. Variety is crucial, and Times Tables Hero is both varied within its challenge and brings a new way of practising to mobile devices. The "Incorrect swipes" screen shows a count of incorrect swipes for each times table to help identify weaknesses.

Turning learning into a game can make it more enjoyable for children. You can use flashcards, interactive apps, or online games that focus on multiplication. Singing songs, practicing with real-life examples (like counting groups of objects), or using visual aids like charts can also make the learning process more engaging. Tailor the approach to your child's interests to keep them motivated. How often should my child practice times tables to become proficient? Times tables apps are among the most common educational apps, and it isn't often that a new one is released that feels fresh. Times Tables Hero's swipe interaction works much better than you might expect. Its simple elegance makes playing the app effortless and encourages 'just one more go' as the player feels compelled to improve their standing on the leaderboard or earn a new achievement.Following repeated requests from teachers to develop a similar programme for addition, subtraction and number bonds, ‘NumBots’ was released in 2019. Compared to Doodle Tables, which my school has now started to use, this is a pricy alternative which does get boring after a while. I would recommend DoodleTables, DoodleMaths and their other learning apps - plus Numbots which is much better that this! A selection of apps to help kids build their fluency in times tables is ideal, and Times Tables Hero's uniqueness makes it an excellent choice to have among them. The app feels polished through out, with a firm consistency in its design. It will be practice that helps your kids reach the achievement of Times Tables Hero, but making the experience as fun as possible facilitates it. The Times Table Hero app does this well, and it is well worth the five stars awarded in this review. Times Tables Hero is a times table practice app. It distinguishes itself from other apps with a 'swipe left or right' interaction made popular in quite different apps. Times Tables Hero is an app for kids to practise times tables. They answer multiplication questions with a swipe interaction and compete to gain achievements and advance on the Leaderboard. Kids of any age and even their parents could enjoy playing this app as they compete - it supports multiple users.

Space Pig Math is an action game for practicing the times tables - up to 12x12 - with retro-inspired visuals and sounds. The purpose of the game is to laser the aliens to save Space Pig's Friends - and they will provide you with help on the progress through the game. Two enjoyable games in one in this beautifully illustrated, quality, educational game made in Britain by Orchard Toys. On iOS, Times Tables Hero can connect to Game Center, which will let players compare their achievements and leaderboard position with players across the world or just their friends. Still, it doesn't involve any social media functionality when used within this app. Note that other apps could use iMessage alongside Game Center, so this is not a universal statement. The goal of this game is to answer as much questions as possible in as few attempts as possible. For each correct answer you get 10 points.

You can even create a family leaderboard by adding family members to promote healthy competition to see who is the fastest multiplier. Times Tables Hero is very intuitive to use, but it still provides some helpful on-screen hints to guide new players. Working through the different options to tailor the game to the player's level might take a little familiarisation, but only because the app contains so many ways to customise the play experience. Only use Studio if you are confident you are going to improve your score. If you start a Studio game and are doing badly, quit the game and start a new one to protect your time. If the answer is correct the green light comes on and if the answer is wrong the red light comes on. This fun multiplication game will help children practise their times tables from 2-12. With two games in one – Hero City board game and Multiplication Bingo – times table practise will be filled with fun!Student engagement - absolutely TERRIBLE! Students aren’t engaged for long, after getting excitement from new app, and trying it out... but anyway my point is students aren’t motivated enough. We need more updates in the shop: one of my friends bought all the football kits (he’s a whiz at football) and now there isn’t much for him to buy. Needs improvement in this section. Emphasising its game like feel is a swathe of achievements to obtain and positions on the leaderboard to contest. This is a times tables app that lets children concentrate on practising the tables that they are currently learning. With excellent reporting features and a facility to target questions that are causing problems, it could support a child in achieving proficiency in multiplication.

Pricing - It’s okay and better than other educational games, but still fairly pricy for my school (500+ pupils). You can only pay in groups of 190 pupils which frankly doesn’t fit any school except YrR, Yr1, Yr2, which brings me to my next point. Children are generally ready to start learning times tables at around 7 or 8 years old, which often corresponds with the 2nd or 3rd grade in school. However, readiness can vary, and some children may show an interest or ability earlier. It's important to consider the individual child's comfort with basic math concepts and their overall developmental stage. How can I make learning times tables fun for my child?
