About this deal

In this Tiny Epic Galaxies Review find out whether the highly acclaimed title is the best of the series. Are the galaxies really that tiny and epic or is everything a myth? Facts Move one of your ships from its current planet or galaxy to another planet. When arriving at a planet, a ship may do one of two things: Each level of the colony requires an increasing number of resources to upgrade, which is equal to the current colony level. Players can upgrade using either Energy or Culture. So, to upgrade from level 3 to 4, players will need to spend 4 culture or 4 energy. It can’t be split up between the two resources. It has to be all of the same resource. Colonizing a Planet

Besides keeping his Culture high, a player needs to keep a balance between building up his galaxy and gaining colonies. Building up his galaxy has the benefit of giving a player both extra ships to move around and more dice to roll. Gaining colonies gives a player ready access to their special abilities, as opposed to a player simply landing a ship on a colony in play to use it once. Although the primary interaction between players is via the Follow action, players can also interact through the effects of the various special abilities of the planets and racing to colonise a planet. If you gain a ship, immediately place it on the center of your Galaxy Mat. This ship can be used on the same turn. If you gain another die, it will be available to you at the start of your next turn. Announce your new victory point total. Each turn, a player will roll a set of dice, how many dice are rolled is determined by the level of that player’s galaxy. Each side of the die (6 sided) represents a different type of action: Movement, Colony Action, Harvest from Culture Planets, Harvest from Energy Planets, Improve an Economic Influence, Improve a Diplomatic Influence.Of course, only having access to 4 out of 6 dice and 2 out of 4 ships at the start limits your options. Especially if you manage to roll actions that you can’t actually utilise. The great thing about this game is that you always have options. Energy can be spent to re-roll any dice that you have not placed, and culture can be spent on an opponent’s turn to ‘follow-up’ one of their actions. This lets you mimic any of their first 3 action selections for yourself. Utilize a colony – This allows you to use a special skill from either your Galaxy card or a planet you have taken control of. Instead of another player, you’ll be playing against a Rogue Galaxy. Their mission is to eradicate all life in the universe. So you can thematically think of them as the Borg or even the Reapers (I prefer the Mass Effect setting in my head). The Tiny Epic games, small box games that promise an epic experience. Tiny Epic Defenders (TED) is no exception to the rule. In the 2nd edition of TED there is revamped gameplay, all new art and the (now standard) tiny epic ITEMeeples. The theme and story stay the same as the 1st edition and follows on from the Great War in Tiny Epic Kingdoms. The world of Aughmoore is now in ruins, the Capital City and surrounding regions are in danger. The evil and darkness has spread to every region. Arise fellow Heroes, band together and fight off the incoming horde of Enemies, Dire Enemies and Epic Foes to make the land of Aughmoore and the Capital City safe once again. As I said, it hasn’t been an issue for me but I still feel that it’s worth mentioning. Tiny Epic Galaxies Review (TL;DR)

The game board is divided into four cards, and can sometimes move across the table. This game may appeal to you who like playing: honey buzz, viticulture, dinosaur island, Agricola. Play continues until a player has accrued twenty-one Victory Points. Then play continues until everyone has had the same number of turns. After that, Secret Mission cards are revealed and Victory Points are awarded for those. The player with the most Victory Points is the winner. Tiny Epic Galaxies is a game where 1-5 players compete to conquer the Galaxy and it plays in around 30 minutes. You must develop your empire and colonise planets to score points and become the strongest galaxy. Apologies to Douglas Adams: Space is big. Really big. Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies is, however, not. Read on.There are 2 major resources within the world of Tiny Epic. To expand your empire and reach the far end of the galaxy you’ll need to carefully manage energy and culture. These are newly discovered planets, ready for colonization. For example, in a 3 player game, you would place 5 planets in the center. A new planet card is then drawn to replace it and is placed in the gap left by the colonized planet. Culture and Energy can be used to advance influence with planets or to perform additional actions using the “follow mechanic” (I’ll talk more about it later).
