If you want the fastest cure and shortest pot life, or if you’re working in cooler temperatures, use the High Performance Fast Hardener. For most common applications, use the High Performance Medium Hardener. If you’re working in warm conditions, or you need a longer working time, use the High Performance Slow Hardener. It’s important to keep as much dust as possible out of your work area while varnishing. Vacuum the work area first, then use a water-filled spray bottle to spray water on the floor or ground to keep the dust down. Heat gun or chemical stripper for removing old varnish. Depending on the type you apply, the cured color can be clear (polyurethane varnish) all the way to a rich amber (spar varnish – the color is derived from the oil it contains). You can even tint it to create your own custom color, or stain the wood beforehand to achieve a certain tone. To start, add the required amounts of resin and hardener to a clean plastic mixing cup and stirring slowly for 2-3 minutes, scraping the sides and the bottom edges. Then pour the material into a second clean mixing cup and stir for another 2-3 minutes. Stir slowly so you don't make it too cloudy or introduce a lot of extra bubbles. Apply a finish coat of Gloss over Natural Teak or Satin to create a varnished appearance, without the work.
