In July 2021, Valka's Sanctuary was introduced in the game, with a giant Bewilderbeast residing inside. The dragon helps Dart, Pouncer, and Ruffrunner reach their adult stage. It is unclear whether or not the Bewilderbeast is intended to be Valka's Bewilderbeast, as the events of the game take place after How to Train Your Dragon 2, yet Valka has a strong connection with it. It is confirmed that the ice caves and glaciers/icebergs functioning as camouflages and strongholds to protect the dragons' sanctuary were created with the help of this Bewilderbeast (or simply by himself). The king wisely chose a spot and utilized his knowledge and capabilities through careful considerations to create an ideal oasis for giant reptiles. When the dragons respond next to the Light Furies, we see a Bewilderbeast that looks EXACTLY like Drago’s Bewilderbeast from HTTYD 2. Toothless is not the most powerful. In the first film they had no idea that there were king and queen dragons, so the night fury got the name to be the most rare and most fierce. Unlike Valka's Alpha being a kind owner, he was used by Drago as more of a weapon to be the most powerful dragon of them all and to be the ultimate war machine. Cloudjumper deeply respects this Bewilderbeast as he bows to the king with reverence. He has also been served as an adjutant for long, as Valka's comment "he must have thought I belonged here" indicates that Cloudjumper has been under the Bewilderbeast since before his first meeting with his future rider. In " Return to the Sunken City", the Rescue Riders uncover a tablet within another stone tablet, containing information about the Bewilderbeast and Alpha Crystals hidden in the sunken Viking-Dragon city of Valantis.

Even the mighty and fearless Night Fury cannot help but bow in respect to this graceful titan. The Dragon used a little ice breath on Hiccup, to show his approval. He may know that Hiccup is Valka's son, given that dragons have a keen sense of smell.

Intelligence and Communication Skills: He was able to understand the noises that Drago was saying to control certain dragons he wanted such as Toothless and Hookfang. He also understood to come out of the water at a specific time. By the time he settles in the Hidden World, his ferocious personality has been rehabilitated and he learns to coexist with all the other dragons, even accepting Toothless as his Alpha.It is possible that Drago's Bewilderbeast was originally to play a larger role in the third film, as Drago was meant to return and be redeemed in an earlier script.

It had, indeed, been blasted in ice during Valka's earlier mission to save captive dragons. Eret then taunts them about how Drago would capture them all, including the 'ice-spitting dragon'. At the apex of that chain of command rules an exceedingly rare alpha dragon to which all others bow — the Bewilderbeast. However, Bewilderbeasts are not born to that alpha status; it is earned through combat, vigilance, and most importantly, a desire to protect the dragons and all other creatures in its nest. Fortunately for Bewilderbeasts, there are few other dragons in the world that can match their intimidating stature and ever hope to compete for the designation of "king of all dragons".
