The triple chocolate crunch bars take no time at all to come together. You’ll melt together the dark and milk chocolates along with the butter and coconut oil. You can use a double boiler to melt the chocolate which is super easy. Another way to melt the chocolate is simply in the microwave. The key to melting chocolate in the microwave is to melt it very slowly. Heat in a microwave safe bowl for 45 seconds and then mix. Then microwave for 30 seconds and mix. Then heat in 15 second intervals, mixing between each interval until the chocolate is smooth. For me the individual chocolate chip cookie dough dessertsis insane, but I wanted something that was even more chocolatey. I craved it, it happened, and I’ve made it many times since. I basically used the same recipe as my individual chocolate chip cookie dough desserts, but took out some of the flour, the cornflour and used the cocoa powder instead. You don’t need the cornflour in this one, as the cocoa powder takes care of it as cocoa powder is quite drying. You can add some salt in as well, but its optional which is why I haven’t bothered putting it in the recipe. Also, half the time when I made it, I forgot to put it in! The super creamy chocolate cheesecake filling contains both a whole lotta melted chocolate AND cocoa powder, making it a real chocolatey flavour explosion. It’s creamy, perfectly sweet and simply melts in your mouth. Don’t over mix the batter! Speaking of texture, one of the best ways to get dense, heavy bars is to mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients past when the batter is just combined. Over mixing activates the gluten in the cookie dough. So what does that matter? The more this protein gets activated, the stringier and tougher it gets, making for crispy and not chewy gooey cookie bars.
