About this deal

Ubiquiti UniFi AC Outdoor Mesh Pro Wifi Access Point (UAP-AC-M-PRO) offers outdoor ranges of up to 183m (600 feet), with its built-in dual-band omni-directional antennas. Things may have changed a bit. I’m using Android 2.8.1.58 and the discover controllers appears not to work. At least not with a UniFi UAP-AC-PRO. This worked for me: The UniFi 6 Enterprise is a great access point if you need to support a lot of clients and want to be ready for the future. But for most home users, the Enterprise access point is overkill. The UniFi HD is designed for high-density environments, like a school or concert venue. The UniFi HD has two ethernet ports, where 1 port can be used to bridge to another access point or as an extra uplink. Simultaneous, dual-band, 3x3 MIMO technology, 802.11AC dual-band access point, capable of speeds of up to 1750 Mbps.

The UAP-AC-M-PRO can be mounted on a pole or mast, or on a wall. Perform the steps for the appropriate installation. Pole Mount This was one of the most popular access point from Ubiquiti. The nanoHD has a small diameter and great performance. The advantage of the nanoHD was always that you can get custom skins for it, and it supported a lot of concurrent clients.

Scalable enterprise WiFi management

At the moment of writing the first UniFi access point that supports the new WiFi standard 6E. This means that it has a 6 GHz channel besides the 2.4 and 5ghz channels. The access point only has a single 2.5 Gbps ethernet port. This means that you will need to connect it to a 10Gbit switch to fully benefit the throughput of WiFi 6E mainly is focused on simultaneous clients. I have not been in the industry in more than 15 years and therefore I am sorry if I have been much more long winded than need be to ask what I have asked, but I did not want to leave anything out, nor did I want to make it sound as if I was in over my head because I do not believe I am. As a side note, I also have on hand a 2 node Linksys Velop mesh set up that is in the box still that I am not sure where came from. If there is somewhere within this network that I might find utilizing this additional hardware advantageous I would be open to that. I thought perhaps kill the wifi from the CL device and instead wire a parent Velop node and child and then simply have the inteligent mesh whatever decide whether to send the wifi signal to the Ubiquity device at the garage wirth the paren t or child node. Ubiquiti makes in my opinion the best access points that you can buy these days. They offer a wide variety of Access Points (AP) in their UniFi product line that gives you the best value for money. But which access point should you buy? I am going to help you with the comparison of the different models. Ubiquiti offers a couple of UniFi access points that can be used outdoor. I have written a more detailed guide about the outdoor access points that you can find here. To keep all the UniFi ap comparisons in one overview I will also briefly mention them here.

We have, for example, the UniFi NanoHD, Lite, Long Range, Flex HD, and now even Wifi 6 devices. All great products, but which one do you need for your home or office network? The last access points that we are going to take a look at in the UniFi AP comparison are the high density and enterprise models. With supports for multi-hop meshing the UniFi AC Mesh Pro can be deployed just about anywhere without each access point requiring existing data infrastructure. Just connect an 802.3af power supply and ensure the device is with range of another access point and the UAP-AC-M-PRO can start extending existing Wi-Fi coverage. A second Gigabit Ethernet port also allows for bridging a wireless network to a non-wireless device, such as a POS Terminal, Public Infrastructure, or more networking equipment. UniFi Controller Software The UAP-AC-M-PRO features simultaneous dual-band coverage via the 802.11ac enabled 3x3 MIMO connection, with speeds of up to 1300 Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. The UAP-AC-M-PRO supports wireless adoption into your UniFi Wi-Fi network. This feature requires a currently managed UniFi AP operating with the following configuration:The quoted wireless specification is given as the maximum radio performance. Achievable range and throughput will vary depending on the regional regulations where the radio is deployed. Standalone mode allows you to set up and manage your UniFi AP without needing controller software. ” The third method, the UniFi Controller Debug Terminal Window Reset is perhaps the easiest (compared to the below SSH reset) Wireless Uplink functionality enables wireless connectivity between APs for extended range. One wired UniFi AP uplink supports up to four wireless downlinks on a single operating band, allowing wireless adoption of devices in their default state and real-time changes to network topology. For devices that support Plug & Play Mesh, this functionality is extended to allow multi-hop wireless uplink – so wirelessly uplinked APs can support uplink to other wirelessly uplinked APs. Guest Portal/Hotspot support Release the button after 10 seconds (if it has worked, the LEDs on the UniFi UAP will stop glowing)

at ui.com community standalone AP , shows 10 questions not answered on topic, tells me loud to, AVOID that. If you are looking for a Wifi 6 outdoor access point from UniFi then you will have to wait a bit longer. There is a new mesh access point coming out, the Unifi 6 Mesh, which is currently available in the early access store. Boasting a weather resistent design, the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-PRO Access Point can be deployed indoors or outdoors, in wireless networks requiring maximum performance. The UniFi AC Pro can be powered using 802.3af PoE from a Ubiquiti UniFi switch or another 3rd party enterprise switch, or using the included PoE injector. Optimal Performance Not everybody can mount their access points to the ceiling or wall. That is where the Unifi FlexHD comes in. This small and sleek design allows you to place insight, on a cabinet for example. It’s also possible to buy a ceiling or wall mount for the Flex HD.These models are normally not needed in a normal home network or small/medium office. The access points are designed for a specific purpose, for example, to handle a high amount of concurrent users or to cover a large area. The Unifi Mesh Pro features a weather-resistant outdoor enclosure and is designed for outdoor use. It also offers multiple mounting options to a wall or pole, all possible with included mounting accessories. At the moment of writing, you can buy almost 20 different access points from Ubiquiti. There are also 3 new models available in the early access store. That is a lot to choose from, so we are going to divide the different models into groups.

Here are some simple steps to follow when you want to physically factory reset a UniFi access point:There are some models, like the UniFi 6 Long Range, that are semi-outdoor rated (IP54). They can be placed under an eave or porch for example, but they are not true outdoor access points. (You can expose them to rain) Regional regulations must be observed when deploying radio equipment. More info Power Input Power Consumption The Mesh Pro has 3 dual-band antennas, making it capable of reaching higher speeds. But the 3 antennas make it also a good base station for your outdoor mesh network. With a mesh network is one radio used to talk to the other access point (creating a wireless bridge), and the other is used to connect to the clients. Next, we need to install the Unifi AP, make sure it’s connected with an ethernet cable to your network. It’s not a bad idea to hold in the RESET button for more than 5 seconds to get the unit to defaults. When the led is solidly white, you know that the AP is connected and in the factory default state.
