The New Adlestrop Railway Atlas is a small-scale historical atlas of Britain's railways, currently in progress. It shows lines and stations currently open, together with those that have closed. The key is: Scope The legend will display some companies not currently on the map, but whose extent includes the area you’re looking at. US Map: Northern Arizona redrawn from Kingman to Flagstaff, Williams and Holbrook. Logging around Flagstaff and McNary added, plus detail of mining at Jerome. Also Morenci and Clifton detailed.As a work-in-progress, the map may have mistakes - I make no claims to be a railway historian! But I will correct any that are drawn to my attention. The map is chiefly researched from historic maps and timetables. The symbols used to represent stations on this map are shown at a size proportional to the total number of entries and exits for 2021-2022 (using a logarithmic scale). US Map: AZ Pima (Tucson), Pinal and Gila counties detailed, and adding the Twin Buttes RR, Arizona Southern RR, San Manuel Arizona RR, Mineral Creek RR and the Tucson Street Rly. US Railroads: Alaska and Yukon added to the map, plus part of British Columbia. Includes the Alaska RR, White Pass & Yukon, Copper River & Northwestern, Wild Goose RR, Council City & Solomon River, Tanana Valley RR, Klondike Mines Rly and many more.
UK Railways: HS2 updated following latest cancelled phases. Harrogate, Pateley Bridge, North Walsham redrawn. UK Railways: Drigg Royal Ordnance Factory added. Also more detailed routes for the National Grid monorail tunnels under London. Occasionally a whole region of the map disappears. This is a due to a time-delay in the map being sent from my webhost to Google. This might not correct until the next day. If the problem persists please let me know. US Railroads: More northeast Texas added, including Navasota, College Station, Jewett, Hearne, Palestine, Tyler, Jaksonville, Henderson, Marshall, Longview, Timpson and Rust. UK Railways: Milwr Tunnel underground railway added (approximation of the route). Also redrawn Mostyn, Flint and Shotton Works.Canals: Features added to Bridgewater Canal, Coventry Canal, Cromford Canal, Derby Canal, Erewash Canal, Nottingham Canal and Nutbrooke Canal.
UK Map: West Lothian redrawn, covering the various shale, coal and ironstone mines that were rail-served. Includes Broxburn, Livingston, Bathgate, Fauldhouse and Armadale. US Railroads: Northern New Mexico added to the map, including the Santa Fe Transcontinental through Raton, Albuquerque and Gallop, the coal branches around Raton, logging in the Zuni Mountains, narrow gauge around Santa Fe, and much more.
Canals: Birmingham Canal Navigations (BCN) features added. Plus a big update that sees all abandoned canals now shown in green.
