We start with Arvo Part’s Tabula Rasa and the Diamonds put in an impressive performance. They dig up a pleasing amount of detail and manage to organise it in a cohesive and musical way, with easy to follow low-level musical strands and a presentation that doesn’t start to get confused when things get busy.

Diamond 12.2 can handle a max power of 120 watts RMS from the amp the whereas Diamond 12.1 has a max power handling value of 100 watts RMS, 20 watts less than the Diamond 12.2. Perhaps it’s more useful to know that the minimum impedance is 5ohms, which means these floorstanders are unlikely to give any decent price-compatible amplifier a problem. After listening to several option i settled on The Wharfedale 12.2s, I have placed them on sand filled stands and quiet frankly they have exceeded my expectations, They are extremely detailed and i am hearing elements of music previously lost to my ears.
