Whilst Clive Mantle also fell victim to overacting, the villainous and insincere nature of Curtis meant it wasn’t as jarring or out of place as it was with the ‘good guys’ and was very enjoyable. Some of the dialogue and acting choices made by Clive Mantle hinted to things that never came to fruition, and it was questionable why they were included at all. When other kids start disappearing too, Madison begins investigating.

Unfortunately, by the 43% mark, I felt like I was forcing myself to finish a book I'd started to want to skim through because the writing felt off from the beginning. I told myself it was simple enough writing, we could get to the end and find out how this ends, but my suspicion of who the culprit was became too obvious, and I lost interest. Once I hit 50%, though, I couldn't keep going. She doesn’t want to talk, so I’m not going to force her to talk. That is the one thing I will never do to Jane. I know Jane has been through a lot and her talking to me normally is something I will never risk to lose. Forcing her to talk is one of the worst things that I can do to her because so many people try to do that with her already" The characters were stereotypical to be honest - they are the rich, young kids who are living in private school and its set in a typical YA manner - a high school. It's all right though, as Tyler offered a breath of fresh air as well as Sharon and Laurie. Not many books delve in the topic of homosexuality too. they showed me what two people molded together are. there were so many parts where i felt as if my heart was being ripped apart into pieces and i was being stabbed half to death okay. there was this one quote that made me stupid smile, "that makes us, jane and rowan." i wanted to sob tbh. Sometimes it switched around to the other teens involved but not often. It also switched when one of the teens was being kidnapped. It was written from their point of view when it was happening. It made the book seem a lot scarier because you saw what they were going through and you saw how helpless they were to fight. It was horrible. Her bodyguard Rowan was just yummy 😩🤚🏻 the man was ✨obsessed ✨ with her and I was here for it, there were so many little twists and moments that had me gasping 😭 The book "Wish You Were Dead" is a similar version of another story written by Lois Duncan, "I Know what you did Last Summer". Madison Archer, a student of Soundview High school suddenly gets mysterious death threats after her best friend had disappeared. In addition, a blogger called Str-s-d posts up blogs of how much he/she wants the popular kids to drop dead. Time is running out. Madison needs to find out who is behind this whole puzzle scheme before she is next!

From what I could force myself to read, it has the bodyguard trope, some mafia vibes, insta!love, and dark romance tones. Things get weirder and weirder- the anonymous blogster names names and then, poof, they're gone. Eventually, she gets scared that she's cursed- clearly someone is reading what she writes and acting on it. In the mean time, Madison is seeing people who she has been close to her whole life disappear and desperately trying to make the connection to who could be responsible. Worse than anything, she fears that her new man of interest who just moved into town mysteriously could be involved in some way. Not to mention she's been getting weird anonymous notes on the computer, and now she's finding messages left for her warning her that it's not safe. Wish You Were Dead is a very intriguing story about teenagers going missing after a blogger, Str-S-d, wishes they were dead. One after the other the bullies of Soundview High are nowhere to be found and Madison finds herself filled with guilt because she is the one person they see or talk to last. But the mystery of the kidnapper is not the only one Madison will have to solve. She needs to find who her mysterious cyber stalker is and if the new guy she is falling for had anything to do with the missing kids.

rowan, he is literally amazing. we love that he is honestly so protective of her, the way he was so so loving but morally grey??? yk i ate that up. he also has a way with words, making words literally sound poetic when he was showing his true emotions. Jane was a strong female lead who went through a very difficult traumatic thing (don’t wanna spoil it) that caused her to go silent with fear, her muteness was a different twist to the story and I loved seeing her grow stronger and stronger, day by day,ROWAN BEING 𝙊𝘽𝙎𝙀𝙎𝙎𝙀𝘿 WITH HER LIKE ODNDHBSJS ROWAN IS THE MAN. THE STANDARD. HIM BEING SO SOFT WITH HER LITERALLY MELTED MY HEART.
