Ms. O’Connor has created these and other characters who I’m certain will make you gasp with laughter just as hard as they did me. And her storyline is so convoluted (in such an innocent way) that you just can’t anticipate what is going to happen next. And if that’s not enough, Justin’s being chauffeured to Day 1 of his brand new school in style. Sort of. His father drives an oversized toilet. ’What the actual WHAT?!’ Besides scoring detention on his first day and having to endure Maths Monday, Justin also meets his archnemesis and makes a name for himself at school. I LOVE how the author weaved so many details together to come up with the big picture. It seems NOTHING that happens is random. Trent and Carrie are amazing together. Trent thinks that he is above everyone because he is rich and dresses well. He constantly criticizes everyone around him. He thinks he should always get what he wants when he wants. He achieves this by yelling and threatening to fire everyone. Trent Lancaster spends one month without his Executive Assistant (or as his drivers refers to Carrie: 'Trent's brain, left hand, and right hand'. He's had a miserable month without her at his side and to ensure it never happens again, he intends to marry this brilliant beauty. Only given all the times he's threatened to fire her, he's not sure she even likes him. However, the future of his company and his happiness depend upon him succeeding, so Trent begins a slow one week seduction, that happens to coincide with Carrie Hanson's Worst Week Ever when everything that can go wrong does so in hilarious form. (Hilarious to the reader, Carrie is not having much fun this week.)

We were told too often about how everyone fell in love with Carrie - this woman had been working for Trent for 2 yrs, and suddenly she's the woman of everyone's dream? I also didn't need to be told three different times what her height and weight were.The book offers a HFN ending and I am looking forward to continuing the stories of all the characters that Liza has brought to life for this series. Ms. O’Connor writes a hilarious tale of misadventures that seem outrageous yet are real-life. She pulls readers into Carrie’s life and has them cheering for Trent to change. As the first book in the series, A Long Road to Love, I’m dying to see what happens next! Worst Week Ever has none of that. Instead, it offers characters that are a bit over the top going through situations that are a bit unbelievable at times but never dull. This book goes from one bizarre moment to the next, carrying the reader on a great adventure that is full of laughs. It was extremely entertaining and I had a hard time putting the book down.

What do you get when you put a hardworking, can-do middle-class young woman together with a egotistical, outrageous, billionaire boss, then throw in the worst week of disasters imaginable? The male protag is the quintessential 'billionaire' from family money, complete with servants, a penthouse and a Long Island Estate. He has some anger issues, but he's written in a way that makes his outlandish toddler-resembling behaviour endearing. I read Worst Week Ever on my Kindle; there were no formatting problems, although the cover looks better on the app on my MacBook Pro. Tuesday is school photo day and plenty can go wrong there, the kind of wrong that could easily haunt Justin into his adult life. It’s also the day of the Super Science Spectacular so I’m expecting some impressive explosive moments.
