About this deal

Lastly, we have to consider the combination of the XV88 and the SRX02. Roland advertise this as "quite simply, the finest [piano] Roland have ever offered" but this is palpably untrue. The more expensive HP‑ser ies pianos — the ones offering sympathetic resonance — are clearly superior, both in tone and in realism. Even the VE‑RD1 board against which I compared the SRX was more playable. Sorry Roland; I would love to love the SRX02, but I don't.

If the Software includes development tools, such as scripting tools, APIs or sample scripts (collectively “Development Tools”), and unless there is a separate agreement between You and Roland or Roland for the Development Tools, You may use such Development Tools to create new scripts and code for the purpose of customizing Your use of the Software (within the parameters set forth in this EULA and in the Development Tools themselves) and for no other purpose. I first saw the XV88 in a shop. My first (printable) thought was "wow" — but I admit that part of that was a reaction to its metal end‑cheeks. Last seen on the Jupiter 8 and Jupiter 6, these are like pheromones to a wrinkly such as me and, on a subconscious level, they were impelling me to flash a credit card. I managed to resist but, on a more practical level, a brief widdle on the keyboard and a dance around the control panel — resplendent with its large, friendly JD800‑style buttons — promised many good things to come. So, when SOS offered me the opportunity to review the XV88, I jumped at the chance. And when it became clear that the review XV88 would come with two of Roland's SRX‑format sound expansion boards (the new‑style cards which are only compatible with the XV‑series synths), I jumped right over the chance. XV88 Keyboard Synth The XV-88 is equipped with a full 88-key piano keyboard utilizing a hammer action system for rich expressiveness, with aftertouch provided as well. The XV-88 gives you both the pure, unspoiled expression you get with a piano, and the dynamic play of a synthesizer, all in a single instrument. Bonding Knife - A Bonding Knife is a ceremonial T'au blade that is not intended for combat, but is carried by the leader of T'au Fire Warrior teams who have performed the Ta'lissera ritual and bonded as a group. Battlesuit pilots may not actually carry a true Bonding Knife but instead have a similar knife design painted onto their armour.Neuroweb System Jammer - The T'au seek mastery not only over their own technology, but also over that of other intelligent races. To this end, they have created the Neuroweb System Jammer; a device capable of broadcasting a jamming field that interferes with enemy weapon systems, causing critical, and sometimes explosive malfunctions. Being one of the most well protected units in the Tau arsenal, there are reports of Broadside battlesuits surviving direct hits from autocannon and lascannon fire, and they provide as much protection as a suit of Terminator Armour, but unlike the Imperium, the Tau are able to manufacture such heavy suits in huge quantities. [3] You can easily perform arpeggios, and use "rhythm guitar," simply by pressing a few chords. You can even specify the rhythmical "feel" you want. The mounting of twin-linked Plasma Rifles in place of the standard twin-linked Smart Missile Systems made the battlesuits even more effective when confronting the gargantuan Bio-Titans of the Tyranids.

Moving on to the XV88, let's make one thing clear... this is an excellent weighted keyboard, a master controller, and a wonderful synth. I have never been a big fan of playing synth sounds, organs, or drums, from a grand piano, but I recognise that many players love the combination of a weighted keyboard and a powerful synth. For them, the XV88 would be synth nirvana, were it not for the key return problem. An XV88 Broadside Battlesuit of the T'au Sept armed with twin-linked Heavy Rail Rifles and twin-linked Plasma Rifles accompanied by two Missile Drones. Having been a liability Roland, I do not feel too lost on the XV-88 compared to someone who never used Roland, but it must be said, is hardly the most intuitive synths which would exist for the brand. As a base coat, the XV-88 paint is an excellent choice for a wide range of Warhammer 40K armies, as it provides a solid foundation for further layers of paint and allows you to create a wide range of effects. Here are three armies that are well-suited to be painted with XV-88:

When paired with XV-88, it creates a convincing, metallic finish that is evocative of old, weathered copper or brass. It has almost everything. But if I must : a sequencer. I don´t really miss one since I use cubase, but for a price like that, you would expect the roland people to include some kind of sequencer. Other than that I would have loved to have just a few knobs, assignable if possible. Now you only got 4 sliders. Assignable, yes, but still... Also, the typical roland handicap in my eyes : that stupid pitch/modulation bend. Give us a pitch wheel, a modulation wheel and an extra assignable wheel (or make the modulation wheel assignable), but get rid of that stupid pitchbend !!! I. Provide access to the Software or allow use by any third party, other than Permitted Third Parties, without Roland's prior written consent;I give the sounds a 10. You got 1024 basic patches, and four expansion slots. 2 for JV-cards, 2 for srx-cards. If you see the wide variety of all rolands expansion boards in the jv and srx-series, you must be hard to please if you´re still complaining. I have analog synths as well, and most of these digital patches can stand right next to them without any shame. Hell, I even heard realistic electric guitarpatches for the first time on a synth. It´s patches are breathtaking, it´s basses pretty good, it´s drums all you need (hey, it´s a modern state-of-the-art roland, so it includes all the vintage roland sounds), and those EP/Rhodes´s just make me wanna drool. The pianos have a proper patch but have many defects (a pianist). A very short decay for a piano (One realizes with a sustain pedal)

The XV88-2 variant of the Broadside Battlesuit also possesses enhanced armour plating that has been tempered to better fit the shape of its chassis, and has extra stabilisers connecting the Heavy Rail Rifles to the battlesuit's chassis which are required because of the shift in weight balance after their repositioning. Some pilot teams have performed the ritual of Ta'lissera and will transfer together to form a complete and bonded Broadside Battlesuit team. After serving their time piloting XV88s, a team will either return to the XV8 to complete their training, or, if they have performed exceptionally well, might all be promoted directly to the rank of Shas'vre. Using these rapid deployment tactics, XV88 Broadside Battlesuit Teams could lend their potent fire support without slowing an armoured Hunter Cadre down as it raced to new positions for the next battle against Imperial forces. Broadsides tend to be encountered supporting larger Tau formations, where one or more three-member teams are tasked with providing fire support for entire Hunter Cadres. Occasionally, a single Broadside is tasked with providing support for a smaller Tau force. [3] Variants XV88-2 Broadside Battlesuit

XV-5080/88/5050/3080/2020 Volume 2 Performances

Designed to offer T'au combatants long-range fire support, XV88 Broadside Battlesuit Teams have exceeded expectations since their conception, becoming mainstays of the Hunter Cadres and tank-destroyers of legendary proportions upon the many battlefields of the T'au Empire. During the Taros Campaign, for example, a formation of XV88 Broadside Battlesuits engaged Imperial forces during the Battle of the Phyyra Heights. In this brutal fight, the Broadsides accounted for seven confirmed armour kills against the Astra Militarum's 12th Tallarn Armoured Regiment in under thirty solar minutes of engagement, including the famed Baneblade super-heavy tank Draco Rex. The XV-88 is essentially a professional keyboard version of the XV-3080. It has 88-note precision hammer-action keyboard with velocity and aftertouch sensitivity. It has 4 real-time control/tone palette sliders, D-Beam technology, and all of the advanced sounds, effects and Matrix Control found in the XV-3080. The XV88 design traded the mobility and manoeuvrability of the XV8 in favour of increased weapon power and range. The XV8's body structure was also significantly modified to compensate for this. Later modifications added stabilisation systems, ballistic anchors, and integrated recoil-absorption units to the XV88, allowing it to handle the additional weight and power drain of the heavy weapons it carries.
