So here's how my first ride relying on this for navigation went, and seeing as I'd just moved to a new area, I really was relying on it. The unit itself is big (dwarfing even Garmin’s Edge 1030) and it closely resembles a smartphone, which also makes it easy to read. The downside is that the bulky unit takes up plenty of space and the rather tall mount can get a little wobbly when riding over rougher ground. There's a lot of technology involved here for the audience of casual, touring cyclists, and you're relying quite heavily on your phone and other services you must link. The 35-second startup time is unlikely to please anyone, either, though the battery life – an hour's use doesn't make a visible dent in the meter, and you can ride all week with it (Mio claims up to 17 hours per charge) – is at least a lot more suitable. Are we nearly there yet?

However the Cyclo seems a tad overpriced to me. The only justification for the price that I can see is the screen. Then again, the screen IS a fundamental part of a bike navigation offering. From time to time, we share or sell activity data in a de-identified and aggregated manner with or to companies that provide MiTAC and our customers with content or features for the purpose of enhancing the quality of the content or features they provide, and with or to other third parties for research or other purposes. Right to withdraw consent. Where MiTAC is collecting or/and processing data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Business information details such as information provided in the course of the contractual relationship between you and MiTAC, or otherwise voluntarily provided by you; The only downside I can see with the Cyclo 210 is if you want to connect to anything if not straight away then in the future. It has no ANT+ connection, which is what most devices use to connect to power meters, heart rate monitors, cadence and the like.

Here’s a pretty picture of it from the side. As you can see it’s ‘ bike computer sized‘ (68x114x18.6mm). If you choose to upload your activity data, MiTAC will process your activity data for the following purposes: (a) to enable you to analyze your activity data, identify any Cyclo used to collect data during the activity, see your location on your activity recordings, including GPS logs and related physical data, and, if you wish, share your activity data with others; (b) to analyze usage and trends in an aggregated manner, so as to develop or improve features and services; and (c) for internal research and development purposes so as to build better products and services for customers, including you. There’s a stem mount, the device and a micro USB charing and data transfer cable. That’s it. Oh. Bits of paper too. The screen quality and readability are both AWESOME. And it’s one of the best screens I’ve seen. I’ve not seem them all but this is a GOOD screen. It’s clearly visible through sunglasses, for example. The touchscreen is nice even though I don’t like touchscreens. Usually it works perfectly well and then sometimes less so. Nevertheless I’d give its touchiness 8/10 which is quite high praise from me.

Thanks to a software update in June 2014 you can now connect your iPhone or Android Smartphone to your Cyclo 505 using its now activated Bluetooth technology. This will enable you to receive calls and also see who is calling. Plus, you can read incoming texts. There is a compatible headset with microphone that you can use to wirelessly or use with a wire to receive telephone calls. Whats more on your Cyclo 505 you can even listen to voice instructions using the headset however this feature is only available with Android Smartphones. Information about you from the account(s) of other application providers when you enable your Account to access any such accounts; So what doesn’t the Mio Cyclo 210 do? There’s no ANT+ connection so you can’t connect it to a heart rate monitor, nor is there Bluetooth. That means if you want to transfer routes to or from the 210 (or pair it with Strava), you have to connect it to your computer using a lead and transfer them via the MioShare app — an annoyingly fiddly process. Should I buy one? Also, in Surprise Me I'd select, say, 20 miles as my desired loop and it would suggest three up to 20km instead. And one such route displayed correctly but said I had 270 miles to go, which to be fair did surprise me, because I was already home. Perhaps a future update will fix these things. Just do as you’re told Wireless ANT+ and bluetooth heart rate monitor and wheel and cadence sensor (all 505HC models only)The main thing I like about my Garmin 810 is that it has Bluetooth to connect to my phone, so that as soon as the ride is saved it uploads automatically to the Garmin Connect and Strava apps.

MiTAC is committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about what information it holds. MiTAC understands its obligations to help you understand how and why MiTAC processes your personal data. This policy tells you about the why, what, how, and when in relation to MiTAC’s collection and processing of your personal data. The Cyclo 505 supports bluetooth and ANT+ heart rate monitor and bluetooth and ANT+ speed-cadence sensors. Plus it also allows connection to ANT+ trainers. Additionally connection to the Shimano Di2 unit (required) allows the user to see gear info during ride and all gear info is saved in history and a GPX file. The Mio Cyclo 210 (review ed here) is the entry-level model in a range of 5 devices. The 210 is starting to be more actively marketed since its introduction in August 2018.
