About this deal

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I don’t know what magic the Iowa Writer’s Workshop has harnessed, but their graduates are some of the most pure and brilliant writers working today. Heller is one of those gems.

Written as a field guide to demonstrate practical examples of river types, and to highlight the pressures they experience and their often-parlous condition, this book is intended to better inform both river management approaches and the policy necessary to achieve this. Fundamentally, the authors seek to demonstrate how the hydrological, geomorphological, and ecological functions of rivers and their catchments are inexorably intertwined, and together how they generate and maintain rivers as dynamic entities. Connor Danson finds himself uprooted from Sacramento after inadvertently witnessing a violent crime. With the trial looming, he seeks refuge in the quiet mountain town of Virgin River, carrying emotional burdens and a guarded demeanor.Katie Malone’s journey to Virgin River is disrupted by a flat tire and unfavourable weather. Struggling to change the tyre and with hungry children in tow, Katie is relieved when a group of bikers offers assistance. Among them is Dylan, and there is an immediate spark of attraction between them. But Katie, a practical single mother, and Dylan, a commitment-phobe, are not seeking long-term romance. At first they thought it was the sun, but it was far too late for any lingering sunset and there were no cities in that direction for a thousand miles. In the farthest distance, over the trees, was an orange glow.”

I admire Heller, his range of subject matter, his tightness send believability of plot. This book about friendship, starvation and survival has been done before, but not as well, and not with these two very special characters. I can't wait to see what he does next. But, whatever he does I'm in for the next adventure. Virgin River provided a sanctuary for Sacramento prosecutor Brie Sheridan, a prosecutor from Sacramento, who faced a near-fatal encounter with a deranged criminal. Despite her strength and bravery, she carries some lingering fears.

Four years ago, air force lovers Franci Duncan and Sean Riordan reached a critical impasse in their relationship. Franci desired marriage and a family, while Sean was reluctant to commit. However, a chance encounter reignites their passionate chemistry, revealing that the intensity between them hasn’t diminished. As Tom and Nora spend more time together, they begin to challenge and surprise each other. They discover that their initial perceptions were mistaken and that love can defy expectations. Through their journey, they learn the true meaning of family and find themselves embracing a connection neither of them anticipated. Virgin River Book 20: My Kind of Christmas (2013) Amidst the snow-covered redwood forests, the tranquil town of Virgin River becomes a picturesque setting for holiday festivities. The tight-knit community comes together annually to decorate a grand tree in the town square, singing carols and sharing hot chocolate. This year, a delightful surprise awaits, bringing two individuals on a path to connection. As the townspeople gather for the festivities, these two individuals, both seeking solace for their wounded hearts, recognise a potential remedy in each other’s company. Amidst the joyous atmosphere, they take a chance on finding comfort and connection on this special night. Virgin River Book 13: Promise Canyon (2011) Paul Haggerty lives by the marine code of Semper Fi, remaining loyal to his best friend. He has done his best to support Matt’s widow, despite secretly harboring feelings for her over the years. Just as he is ready to make his move, another woman asserts her claim on him, making it challenging for him to break free.

Amidst the healing beauty of Virgin River, Connor and Leslie begin to let go of their inhibitions, allowing the possibility of a new chapter in their lives. As they navigate their own personal journeys, they learn to embrace the unexpected and open their hearts to the transformative power of love. Virgin River Book 18: Redwood Bend (2012)It too begins on the Thames, with The Nellie, a cruising yawl, as the dream-boat that carries Marlow, employed by “the Company”, as he heads into unmapped territory in search of missing company director, Kurtz. A journey to the heart of our collective subconsciousness. Oscar and Lucinda , Peter Carey At the halfway mark, the boys smell smoke and along with the danger from the fire, they come across a woman in need and some unsavory campers. The tension ramps up and this turns into a tension-filled adventure survival story that tests their skills and their friendship in unexpected ways. It kept me riveted. Both Colin and Jillian are yearning for simplicity in their lives, wanting to leave behind complications and find peace. With a story about a dude who maybe killed his wife on the river and the two young fellas who happen to stumble upon him both with and without his better half accounted for that also included a side dish of . . . . . At first, NOTHING HAPPENS for such a long time, even though they are made aware of a GIANT forest fire heading their way and they have about a 10-day paddle to do to get to safety. If that does not create tension what does?

Salmon try to jump to the top of the Could Weir, Selkirk, during their journey up the Tweed River. Photograph: David Cheskin/PA Colin Riordan, seeking solace and healing from a devastating helicopter crash, seeks refuge in the peaceful town of Virgin River. While his family provides unwavering support, it is through his art that he finds solace for his troubled soul. If you haven't realized it yet, let me say it, loud and clear, “I loved The River”. Thank you Peter Heller. Leslie Petruso, tired of the painful reminders of her past, decides to leave her hometown behind and find solace in anonymity. Virgin River becomes her temporary sanctuary, a place where she can escape and start anew. With the support of the caring residents of Virgin River and their own courage and humility, Vanni and Paul may have a second chance to embrace the love they both desire and deserve.
