Soya or hydrolysed rice protein formula on demand (usually babies feed 8-10 times a day between 0 and 2 months and 7-8 times between 3 and 6 months). SMA Wysoy Soya Infant Formula (From Birth) is not suitable for babies with kidney problems or premature babies, where medical guidance should always be taken. SMA recommend that breastfeeding is best for babies. They advise that you should always seek the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietician or pharmacist on the need for and proper method of use of infant formula and on all matters of infant feeding. After 12 months, babies can start drinking commercial plant milks. If the baby is still breastfed, they do not need any other milk – it is better to give them more iron-rich solid foods in combination with breastmilk. Soya formula milks have been used for over a century, are safe and have shown to promote growth and development comparable to that of breastfed babies or babies fed cow’s milk formula.
