Since 2005, IDW Publishinghas excelled with its Transformerscomics. They have done so by using the characters and concepts of the classic Generation 1 canonas a base and then adding new ideas on top of them. It stays true to what makes Transformersa much-loved franchise and heads and shoulders above anything Hollywood is doing. Bonus material includes each A and B cover, and sketches of the 4-part image, Cyclonus, Nightbeat, Doubledealer (including a dragon-like alternate mode), Grindcore and Straxus (the last 2 in robot and alt mode). Cliffjumper crashlands on a remote planet and encounters two young aliens named Kita and Coll, orphans who maintain their family's farm with help from a nearby village. Kita and Coll determine Cliffjumper is friendly and offer him enough synthetic Energon to refuel, and the little red Autobot in turn helps the siblings revitalize their farm. One day, though, a Decepticon unit lands on the planet and threatens Coll; although Cliffjumper manages to kill three of the Decepticons, Kita is fatally injured during the skirmish. Cliffjumper stays with Kita until she dies and destroys the remaining Decepticons in a fit of rage. After burying Kita's body and ensuring Coll is taken in by the village, Cliffjumper steals the Decepticon ship to rejoin the Autobot forces. The Transformers: Rise of the Autobots (2017) — Reprints IDW's Autocracy series under a different title and format.

Instead of an ongoing civil war on Cybertron which spills over to Earth by accident, Furman presented us with an interstellar war between the Autobots and Decepticons, a war with a Code of Interplanetary Conflict and alt-form-and-dagger covert operations, with energon the prize and whole planets at stake. A surprising development on Earth heats up the war and turns our planet from just another proxy battleground into the ultimate prize. The Transformers: Regeneration One (2012–2014) — A limited series set in the main Marvel Comics continuity that continues on from the final issue of the Marvel's original Transformers series 21 years later, ignoring the events of both of the Marvel UK material and the Generation 2 comics.Bonus material includes Sketches by E. J. Su, bios on IDW Ultra Magnus & IDW Sixshot, an article on creating the IDW Spotlights, and an interview with Su. Windblade would introduce the lost colony world of Caminus, where female and male Transformers naturally coexisted. This would lead into the idea that ancient Cybertron did have female Transformers, but had lost them for unknown reasons. Rather than a Frankensteinian attempt to force gender on the species, Jhiaxus's experiments were an effort to reintroduce a lost element of Cybertronian society. Transformers: War Within Omnibus (2009) — Reprints Dreamwave's The War Within (including the preview) and War Within: The Dark Ages. These hardcovers collect all of the Transformers comics from The Death of Optimus Prime to the Titans Return crossover. Transformers: The Reign of Starscream (2008) — A 5-issue sequel to the 2007 film dealing with Starscream's return to Cybertron to take his place as the new leader of the Decepticons. Transformers: Spotlight Omnibus (2015) — [2 volumes] Companion to the above collectively containing the relevant spotlight issues, including the Revelation follow-up and the All Hail Megatron spotlights. The sequel to Devastation composed of four Spotlights in fairly direct continuity: " Cyclonus", " Hardhead", " Doubledealer" and " Sideswipe". This series wraps up the first set of Dead Universe-related events.A bi-weekly twelve-issue digital comic set in the days just before the start of the Great War, focusing on Orion Pax's transformation into Optimus Prime.
