Honestly, I've mostly played Mothership a lot but Death of Strawberry has also been on a playlist of mine. I've been meaning to get the whole discography tbh! Really love the chords they use and the fast paced and well complimenting vocal melodies of Mothership tbh. Very well written. I basically meant how it changed from the 90's, where it was more melodic/emo/punk (Fugazi, The Get Up Kids, At The Drive-In) to the more scream-focused form it took from 2003/2005 onward (Saosin, Dance Gavin Dance, The Fall Of Troy; plus spoken word acts like La Dispute, mewithoutYou and Fear Before); and to the 10's, nowadays a lot of bands incorporate synths everywhere, use that metal-sounding low string notes instead of power chords and tend to be very overproduced. This might just be the most divisive Wonder Woman outfit in this list. Some people view this outfit as emblematic of a bad point in Diana’s history, due to this being around the time that she was in a story where she had to relearn all of her powers in somewhat of a reboot. Regardless of your thoughts on that storyline, though, a lot of people really love this outfit — like, to the point that they would call this her best of the bunch. And really, we can’t find too much wrong with it either.

The trade collects Wonder Woman#0, #85, and #90-100, plus Legends of the DC Universe#4-5. That's fifteen issues of prime early '90s eraWonder Womanand all that entails, including a new and absurdly revealing costume and increasingly objectified depictions of the female form over the course of the run. I'll discuss some story elements here, but this won't be a straight review of the plots. Instead I'll focus on Deodato's art. After all, it's his name in the title of the collected edition and it's his art that's most associated with this era of the character. If you'd like to lose yourself in infinite rabbit holes trying to decipher lyrics, mewithoutYou are perfect for that lol Glad you liked La Dispute! I've given Saetia a try, but as you anticipated, the shrieking is a bit much for me 😅 P.S.: I'd really like to know your favorite Omar albums and post-hardcore bands, it's not often I find someone with this kind of tastes to chat with 😄I also really like the chords they use as they give them that kind of unique style they have, they're very creative. I used to play an acoustic cover of A Sweater Poorly Knit by Mewithoutyou when I gigged and had their first 2 CD albums But I'll definitely be on the lookout for a lyric breakdown as I never really sung any other than Sweater. I just wanted to point out how a single genre evolved in only 20 years, although I'll admit I don't listen to that many post-hardcore bands, so feel free to correct me 😄

The '90s were an interesting time in comics, with the stories trying to reflect the discontent that the decade as a whole was known for. So, someone like Wonder Woman as we knew her, clothed in the colors of the American flag and standing up for all that was good, wasn't considered cool. That's why, like Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman got a questionable makeover during this period that has certainly been remembered, albeit not fondly. It's kinda weird coming from me, but often high pitched voices tend to grate me especially on first listen, I didn't even like Tilian at first and now I love how he sounds. Yeah I still get annoyed at some of his whinier vocals, but overall his timber and range are pretty unique. The way he sang in Tides Of Man I find more consistent in that regard. As I said, they're really weird, self-indulgent and uncompromising, and that's what makes them so unique and impenetrable at times, and also why it took me some time to adjust to their sound and general weirdness lolAwesome, I think 'Said the King to the River' was my favourite, as much as I liked the other 2. Had a hard hitting chorus and such speedy rhymes and vocal rhythms Finally Tides of Man are also playing here this year! I only recently heard of them from the Bandsintown app (great app if youre a regular gig goer btw) suggesting me them, then I heard an old song and was like "hold on a second... I know that voice and face!". Haha Added some harmony to the vocals of the second chorus but it's not greatly represented in midi, anyway and it's the first sound you hear hahs Everything you've ever heard about '90s comics is true. The obscenely large muscles, the balloon breasts, and the massive guns. The excessive amount of pouches on everybody's clothing. The gratuitous, leering obsession with the female form. Everything, and I mean everything, was Extreme!!!! It's all true, which is partly why I drifted from comics for a while during the decade. Tilian's a beast. As a singer with a high-pitched voice myself I was in disbelief when I saw the first live video. It took a lot of time but now I can sing some of their tunes quite confidently 😄
