B) When the Zigbee hub is not working, the ZBMINI does still function with the physical switch, just as if the digital relay was not present. From the picture below, you can see compare the size of different SONOFF devices (left to right): MiniR2 (WiFi), MiniR2(ZB), and ZBMINI Extreme. I love the size! My Sonoff ZBMiniL2 arrived late, and it looks like it’s already supported by ZigBee2Mqtt – so using it in your own home automation is a breeze. Shows up in the Zigbee2MQTT dashboard correctly and you can start using it without any problems. The payload just supplies basic information: {"linkquality":145,"state":"OFF"} S1 and S2 switch terminals allow for multiple switch configurations including a 2-way switch setup. Be warned that they’re connected to mains electricity so you need to use AC rated switches.

C) The ZBMINI does not seem to pay attention to whether the switch is on or off (open or closed), but functions more like a 3-way switch where the ZBMINI senses the change in the switch state and changes the state of the relay. In other words, the ZBMINI doesn’t care whether the switch is going from open to closed or closed to open, just that it’s changing state. I don't own this device myself but there are some basic things all should try and more detailed information will also be needed: After you have wired the cable between ZBMINI Extreme and the device, you will want to connect an external switch to S1 and S2. No, I am not sure. I actually just assumed since it is an always-on device that constantly draws power.
