UM HELLO WOW WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT AMAZING STORY. I know people have been loving Sophie Lark, which made me nervous because that meant I had super high expectations going into this book. But when the book started, I LOOOOVED Aida's character and how she's not the typical mafia romance heroine. She gets along well with her brothers, can hold her own in a fight, and has a curvy figure. She does something at a party that her and her brothers crashed that was hosted by one of their rival families, which causes so much tension that Aida is forced to marry Callum, one of the sons of that family. Callum is running for office and despises Aida, but there's no denying he's intrigued by their chemistry. Aida despises Callum too, but they marry to appease tension between their families. While Holly and Byron say that they are going to just remain friends, it appears that actions speak louder than words here. The two are constantly hooking up and taking the clothes off the other one. It’s clear that they have incredible chemistry together and they probably would be a fantastic couple if things got serious. Even the house with its historically ambiguous decor and old books musty smells of fairytales, not to mention the enchanted garden. Some readers may be happy to know this story is presented with no cliffhangers and has an HEA ending. It comes with sizzling sexy bedroom scenes that are intended for mature readers only!

Callum and Aida's story Brutal Prince was an explosive ride and the glimpses of Nessa made me super excited to read her book! But I actually ended up really enjoying the book. The constant rivalry between Leo and Dean was actually really fun to read even though they could get pretty annoying sometimes. I was so excited to read this bc enemies to lovers?? Fake marriage?? Yes please 🤭🤭 and the book started so well with such good pacing and all plus the badass- AND JEALOUSY- scenes were just🤌, but the rest was not that good And I get that to love usually means to compromise but why is it always (I'm not actually asking why, I know why) that this compromise leans suspiciously closer to a woman bending her goals and dreams to fit someone else's life? I mean, I liked the fact that Raylan was ready to move to city for Riona, it was cute and shit, but in the end it was of course Riona who went from "why is Cal the head of family just because he's a guy, I WANT IT AND I'LL GET IT" to "nah, partnership what partnership lemme ditch my beloved city, spend thousands on an office in Nowheresville and live on a ranch". paralleled perfectly with the first emotion he felt after years of unfeeling was the guilt that plagued him when seeing Nessa cry.the way miko acted towards nessa was so realistic, no insta love or guilt in the beginning. he was just so emotionless & sophie wrote his character development so well!! it was so interesting to see the "villain's" point of view, how he plotted against her family and literally could’ve destroyed them immediately 😭 Another thing that Sophie Larks continues to impress me with is her action scenes. This woman writes suspenseful and action scenes with such precision. I feel all of it. Here’s the problem: I’m in deep trouble with a dirty cop. The only person who can save me is Nero. We’re not friends. If he saw me drowning, he’d throw me an anchor. Mikolaj Wilk was saved by his adoptive father from the most horrible conditions of the streets of Warsaw. Later he suffered horribly again when he saw his adoptive father mown down by the cruel hands of the Griffins mob.

Their already established friendship could’ve been a great catalyst for romance to ensue but instead were fobbed off with a love triangle. Which made no sense at all. We already knew who the couple were. The characters also remain: they are so well-developed, so human, so permanent. Before all else, just look at the covers! Look at this one! It's not a headless hunk! It's not an anonymous and extravagantly ripped torso, floating before darkness like some ghostly and impersonal trunk from the abyss! It's a beautiful face, and I'm always surprised by how on par these covers are with the leads.

James Dawson just sold the biggest tech company in Silicon Valley. He’s come to the city for a fresh start. But also to rub his success in the face of the woman who rejected him eight years earlier: Anika Knight. Will Marco manage to steal Anika’s heart along with her business? Or will James fall in love with her all over again, despite his best efforts to the contrary?” First of all, just a moment of silence for the cover model. I mean 🤤! Don’t understand why his whole self isn’t as fawned about as the story. Description: “Broken Vow” is the wild and dangerous fifth installment in the “Brutal Birthright” series. It’s a standalone Bodyguard Mafia Romance, with a HEA and no cliffhanger. Contains steamy scenes.

Riona Griffin is gorgeous, intelligent, and iron-willed. My perfect woman, except she hates my guts. She thinks she doesn’t need anybody. But she needs me.She’s being hunted by an assassin who never misses his mark.I’m going to stay by her side, day and night, keeping her safe. Riona thinks that’s a fate worse than death but I know she’ll learn to love me.If this hitman wants to kill her, he’ll have to go through me first.“Broken Vow” is the wild and dangerous fifth installment in the "Brutal Birthright" series. It's a standalone Bodyguard Mafia Romance, with a HEA and no cliffhanger. Contains steamy scenes. At this very moment I hate Dean… but I know once I get to his book I will have a different opinion about him. We love a good redemption arc. Next book is Miles and he is my favorite so I know I am going to love it so much.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I annoyed that I’m annoyed by this book. I’ve been enjoying Sophie Lark’s work and I was expecting this to be a win since majority of her books have been a win. This girl has no idea how easy she is to read. She’s never learned to put up walls, to protect herself. She’s as vulnerable as a bed of tulips. I intend to stomp through her garden, ripping the blossoms from the ground one by one."
