Description

Place the sifter inside a standard box and pour a few inches of litter on top. When the box gets soiled, lift the sifter out, removing the waste along with it. Dump the waste in the trash, place the clean sifting box inside the second box, and dump the litter from the first box to prepare it for your cats. Repeat as needed.

Not all sifting cat litter boxes function in the same way. Some can be paired with liners to keep the litter pan clean so it rarely needs to be washed. Others don’t accommodate or require the use of liners, in which case the litter pan may need to be washed once or twice a month when all the cat litter is being replaced. Take work entirely out of the equation with the PetSafe ScoopFree Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box. This litter box features an automatic sifting rake that essentially scoops the litter box for you. For starters, it’s well made, feels sturdy and comes in two sizes. The large is 50cm long x 38cm wide x 24cm high. The jumbo is 57cm long x 43cm wide x 27cm high. Rather than having to scrape through litter with a shovel, you can simply remove the sifting section of the litter tray, and clear multiple pieces of waste at once. This makes it easier to keep your litter trays clean for your cats, which means happier kitties, and happier owners too.

The Advantages of Using a Sifting Litter Box:

We recommend using any standard clumping cat litter for the best results. The clumping will help eliminate the urine along with the feces during the sifting process. Non-clumping litters can puddle at the bottom and be transferred from tray to tray, creating a stronger odor.

This litter box comes in several different sizes to accommodate multi-cat households and it has a large entrance. It also features an integrated carbon filter to keep things fresh for your cat. Plus, there’s an easy-access maintenance door so you can monitor the litter level and add more as needed. What We Like: Choosing the right litter box for your cat is important if you want them to use it reliably. Especially when you’re litter training a new cat or kitten. First, at 64.6cm tall, 53.2cm deep and 50.4cm wide, it’s pretty big! It looks fantastic, but you’ll need space for it.As with any litter box, sifting litter boxes come with a certain learning curve for most cats. You should be patient as your animal adjusts to her new box and be prepared to clean up unexpected accidents from time to time. To make your life a little easier, try using some of the following strategies when you're training your little companion on her litter box: You can place the sifting tray inside one of the standard trays and cover it with litter, then wait for your cats to use the box before lifting out the sifter to remove the waste. Place the sifter in the empty second box, pour the liter from the first box on top, and repeat. We found that many people do it this way, but the downside is that urine can leak down into the holes and grooves, clogging the sifter and making it harder to clean. With a sifting litter box, scooping clumps is a cinch because you don’t have to do it yourself! How Does a Sifting Litter Box Work?

The problem is, there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. The best litter box for one cat might be the worst for another.

Traditional litter pans simply keep the soiled and clean litter altogether. They may come with or without hoods, and like sifting pans also feature may different sizes. Traditional litter pans can accommodate virtually any type of litter, but just require that you look for and scoop out the waste with a scooper. In this section, we’ll discuss what makes a good sifting litter box and what you should look for if you continue to shop. Sifting Type Standard Sifting Litter Boxes The see-through flap is 21cm at the bottom, 25cm wide at the top and 26cm high, so there’s lots of room to get in and out. The front flap lifts up and folds with the grey filter holder to create a huge opening. This makes it easy to scoop without having to take the hood off. It also helps to get your cat used to going in a covered litter box if they haven’t used one before. Sifting litter boxes provide the user with a way to strain the litter to remove clumps and feces in the most efficient way possible. While there are several ways to sift the litter, the most common and inexpensive method will use two regular trays that resemble an ordinary litter box and the third pan with several holes or slots to sift the litter. The patented grate inside of the system scoops clumped waste and deposits it into the pull out tray for rapid cleaning.
