Jude has PTSD after years overseas as a surgeon in places where natural disasters hit, wars happen, and so much more. Mental health is the protagonist in every single one of Mazey's books alongside the characters themselves. And I'm so happy the world gets to see these stories where mental health is prioritize, where characters go to theraphy, where you want to find love but you need to be mentally healthy first. ♡ ˎˊ˗ Thrown into an elaborate (not to mention ridiculously drawn out) wedding event which is stressing Jude beyond all belief. It also has Indira seeing her ex and his new girlfriend much more frequently than any human should really endure, and the duo strike a bargain to be one another’s fake dates to this wedding from hell. The one issue is, their forced proximity and their fake displays of affection are beginning to feel just a bit, well, real, and they’re both left wrestling with the idea that such a situation couldn’t be made worse, is made just a little better while the other one is around. Tenderly written and oh-so-sexy, A Brush with Love brims with emotional depth, whip-smart banter, and sizzling chemistry. This OwnVoices romantic comedy completely stole my heart.” —Chloe Liese, author of Only When It's Us Fans of Mazey Eddings will not be disappointed, and if you haven’t read something by her yet, you should change that.

At least, she thought they both knew that. It wasn’t like they talked about their relationship. They didn’t talk about much, if she were being honest … Thrust into an elaborate (and ridiculously drawn out) wedding event that’s stressing Jude beyond belief and has Indira seeing her ex and his new girlfriend far more frequently than any human should endure, the duo strike a bargain to be each other’s fake dates to this wedding from hell. The only problem is, their forced proximity and fake displays of affection are starting to feel a bit…real, and both are left grappling with the idea that a situation that couldn’t be worse, is made a little better with the other around. Eddings did a great job balancing the humor with serious, real-life issues that many Readers will be able to relate to. I highly recommend this series. All books in the series are fantastic, well written, endearing, and fast reads. What starts out as a fake wedding date turns into something these childhood enemies never expected in The Plus One , a sparkling romantic comedy by Mazey Eddings.

Thanks to Mazey Eddings, St Martins Press, Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review* Really, Chris?” she yelled. “Because it looked like you were tongue-punching the tonsils of a stranger on the couch I paid for. But please, explain to me what I’m actually seeing.”

I loved their enemies to lovers, fake dating ( even though only people they lie to Indira’s cheating ex and his new girlfriend she’s caught in the act) , forced proximity ( living at the next room and sharing some camping tent) tropes!

A contemporary romance masterpiece . . . The most intoxicating slow burn I've read in ages' RACHEL LYNN SOLOMON Jude, a surgeon, has been traveling the world for the past few years working in the most dire circumstances, war-torn and impoverished communities; humanitarian crisis zones. Returning to the United States for Colin's wedding, Jude is having a hard time adjusting.Harper and Dan have my whole heart. A Brush with Love is funny and cute while also exploring serious topics, powerfully underscoring the truth that relationships require work, and that happy endings are for everyone." —Sarah Hogle, author of You Deserve Each Other Harper shook her head. "No, no. That's the amazing part. When you look at it-the part you see aboveground-it's this tiny little mushroom head. It looks so insignificant. They just pop up here and there" she gestures with her fingertips as though she could draw them in the air. "But it creates this root-like system called hyphae. And the hyphae-it spreads and grows and, kind of... takes over underground. One living thing, every cell genetically identical, spreading below the surface to take up this enormous amount of space." There was so much to love about this book . . . Thank you to Mazey Eddings for this romance with its messy, true, and painfully real representation of anxiety . . . We need more books like this in the world’ indira is definitely my favorite character from this little companion series, partially because she’s the one i relate to the most, but also because she’s just such an amazing character in general. she’s witty and fun, not afraid to speak her mind while still managing to be respectful, and overall just has so much love to give for the people in her life. i truly adored her. and jude, ohhh jude. it was very hard to read his chapters sometimes because of how truly broken and sad this boy was, but once indira crashed her way through, seeing him become happy and hopeful was just so ridiculously sweet. i was rooting for him since he was first introduced. i loved that mental health was an important aspect of their relationship and that they were both working on becoming better for themselves. Adding insult to injury, when she gets to Colin's she discovers his best friend, Jude, is currently staying there as well. Ughhhh, life is unfair.

Even though this is cute and funny though, that's not all it is. Both Harper and Dan had great depth of character with some hard-hitting story lines in their past. I always love the representation Eddings includes in her books, and this was no exception. The PTSD and anxiety Jude copes with, along with the therapy Indira undergoes, were all presented in a very realistic and honest way. In fact, the therapy sessions in which Indira opens up about her history with Jude, were some of my favorite scenes hands down.Thrust into an elaborate (and ridiculously drawn out) wedding event that’s stressing Jude beyond belief and has Indira seeing her ex and his new girlfriend far more frequently than any human should endure, the duo strike a bargain to be each other’s fake dates to this wedding from hell. The only problem is, their forced proximity and fake displays of affection are starting to feel a bit… real, and both are left grappling with the idea that a situation that couldn’t be worse, is made a little better with the other around.
