We're giving everyone in the House of El their own role and personal journey while still keeping Superman at the forefront, and tying all the Super-titles together in a way that's reminiscent of the Triangle Era," he continues. "I couldn't be more excited to be part of this new era of Action Comics, and doing it alongside such a consummate artist as Rafa Sandoval and comics titan Dan Jurgens truly makes it a once-in-a-lifetime experience." Cover image for 1122DC084 Action Comics #1051 Rafa Sandoval Cover, by (W) Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Dan Jurgens, Leah Williams (A) Rafa Sandoval, Lee Weeks, Marguerite Sauvage (CA) Rafa Sandoval, in stores Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from DC ComicsThe artwork in this story also needs a special mention. While Sandoval and Weeks’ work kind of fit together – both coming out as the somewhat grounded side of superheroics, with one (Sandoval) leaning toward the super and the other (Weeks) toward the human element, Sauvage’s work is bright, slightly whimsical and extremely pretty. It almost reminds me of something I’d see in a fantasy comic. Clark rushes him to hospital, where the doctors examine him and determine he has had a stroke. Lois wonders what could have caused it, and why Perry didn't seem to know that Clark and Jon were the Supermen. Clark suddenly hears a loud and painful signal. He flies to the source, Lex Luthor's office at the top of LexCorp tower, where Luthor is waiting. He tells Clark that he has come to begrudgingly accept that the world needs Superman and offers to work together for the good of humanity, showing him a new LexCorp branded costume he wants Superman to wear; but also says that Superman can only be truly effective as a symbol if people view him as a god, not a man, and nobody can know he is Clark Kent. PKJ: I mean it's a thing that anyone can relate to, I guess. I mean people are always telling me how hard it is to write Superman, and they say it almost like a statement of fact. And the final story in Action Comics features Power Girl’s return in part one of a three-part story by Leah Williams and Marguerite Sauvage spinning out of Lazarus Planet. Action Comics #1051 will be available at local comic shops on January 24, 2023. As for the commercialism that is Dawn of DC, it's an obvious attempt to mislead us into thinking things are about to get better and keep buying their already more than they're worth books. That Rebirth will be nothing compared to this, and how we're goona love it. Yeah, right. They're still going to keep hiring Marvel writers and tell us what we should want instead of hearing what we actually want. It's mostly just an excuse to release a bunch of new #1s and take the other stuff in new directions they think are cool and they'll keep using Marvel's tactics, all the while claiming they don't wish to. In short, nothing will be different than it has been. Just new #1s and "bold new directions" all while, like with Marvel, their books' main reason to exist will be to promote their movies and streaming programs. Basically just another "brilliant" move by DC's editors. It's worthy of DiDio himself.

Nrama: In many ways, so many of the core, iconic DC heroes have become patriarchs - Batman-Bruce, Barry (and even Wally), Arthur, Hal (albeit in a more militarized way). And, of course, the Wonder Woman family has expanded even if Diana isn't quite the matriarch (yet). Variant covers by JIM LEE, ALEX ROSS, MEGAN HUANG, CRYSTAL KUNG, LEE WEEKS, JOHN GIANG, RAHZZAH, GABRIELE DELL’OTTO, MIKE PERKINS, RILEY ROSSMO, DAN PARENT, STEVE LIEBER, SIMONE DI MEO, PAMELA HOOGEBOOM, NATHAN SZERDY, and RAFAEL SARMENTONo in-universe explanation is given within "Speeding Bullets, Part I" for why most of the Super-Family now has new costumes, nor why Superman and Steel/John Henry Irons elected to keep their classic suits instead. It is shown in the issue, however, that Otho and Osul are gifted their suits as a formal welcome to the House of El by Supergirl and the entire Super-Family. Superman Clark Kent met the twins during Action Comics'"Warworld Saga," and after successfully liberating Warworld's slaves, he and Lois adopted the two superpowered children. The lead feature, “Speeding Bullets Part 1,” introduces the reader to the new status quo, which includes the first appearance of the restored Clark Kent secret identity as well as the debut of the Superfamily of the future. W) PHILLIP KENNEDY JOHNSON, DAN JURGENS, LEAH WILLIAM (A) RAFA SANDOVAL, LEE WEEKS, MARGUERITE SAUVAGE
