The design of the tongue is eye-catching and practical. The start to midway has perforations to enhance aeration, and the midway to the top is designed with suede-like material. Peter: I’ve been running these head to head. Craft is more efficient, firmer and a bit faster--but the Max Road 5 holds my foot WAY better. I’d give the edge to the Max Road 5. The RW Takeaway: A lively daily trainer and long-run shoe that heaps on the cushioning without feeling heavy or mushy.

In terms of fit, I would say it is essentially unchanged from that of the MR4+, being true to size , with decent width in the toe-box. All in all, I’m glad they didn’t change the basic fit of the shoe since MR4 as the general fit and volume was about right and would fit the vast majority of feet quite well. Overall: A- (Excellent choice as a lightweight daily trainer. Could improve the stability in the midfoot in the next model) Lateral view of the bright blue Skechers Maxroad 5. S logo on heel. Large Hyperburst foam seen, with indents showing pods udner. Fit: A ( Really well done. Comfortable mesh that is reinforced well and still breathable enough for daily or long efforts)

Can you tell me any record-breaking Sketcher in the world of athletics? You see! It is Nike, Saucony, or Brooks that comes to mind. On the downside, such thought is the cause of Skechers misconception, consequently overruling its good reputation. Peter lives in Austin, Texas and has been a sub 3 hour marathoner as well as a 1:21 half marathoner in recent years. Personal: A (I found these shoes to be extremely comfortable and fun to run in. They may give my favorites a run for their money…) Direct rear of the Skechers Maxroad 5. Stripes seen going diagonally into the center where the pull tab is. Derek: The upper now uses a new more conventional engineered mesh as the base material. Up front there is an internal toe bumper to keep things propped up, similar to what we had on the MR4+ except this toe bumper feels marginally stiffer.

I did not have any issues when I was running in Skechers Maxroad 5. It neither slipped sideways or downwards. Even the pressure from the laces was undetectable. Derek: The outsole is unchanged from the MaxRoad 4+. There is strategic placement of GoodYear rubber on the segmented sections of foam. If MR4+ durability is anything to go by, you should easily get 400 miles from the shoes. I would have liked to see the medial and lateral forefoot rubber get more continuous coverage for a snappier forefoot feel, but I get that Skechers prefer to keep this as a long run cruiser type of shoe. Personal: B- (This is a good shoe, but the design and stability are not optimal for me. I would prefer either something like the Razor Excess or the older Maxroad 3 Ultra as both tend to be more stable or firmer ) Skechers M-Strike ® technology promotes efficiency in each stride. This midsole configuration creates smooth transitions from landing to toe-off Derek: I wear US9.5 in both shoes. My comparison here will be quite coloured by the fact that the Invincible gives me hotspots under the balls of the big toe, which is put down to excessive pressure on that area due to the very soft midsole. I get them to around the 5-6 mile mark and by the 8th mile, I am just about ready to run barefoot the rest of the way home.I think a runner who is solid in neutral footwear and has a firmer footstep will get more out of the shoe. At my own easy pace and with my lighter stride, I just didn't get the kind of enjoyment out of this edition that I have in the past. The weight is also a bit of an issue. In the hot summer days, I took the shoe out for a longer effort and found myself wanting a little less shoe towards the later part of my run as I was turning over the heavier Max Road. Despite all of this, there's no doubt that the shoe is very cushioned. There's no ground feel at all and you are quite noticeably high off the ground. Those who want that max cushion feel at a good price point will be interested in this. Derek: I wear US9.5 in both models. Fit-wise, the TC will run a little longer and looser, and many people do size down for it. The TC is the overall better ride for me, with a bouncier and smoother ride. That said, I would prefer the MaxRoad 5 for recovery runs as it has the more natural feeling transition without the carbon plate. Stability: C ( Sidewalls and traction help, though this midsole is very compliant and can be difficult to run in if someone is sensitive to softer platforms.) The fit is true-to-size lengthwise, and overall the width is about average. I wouldn’t mind just a bit more room in the toebox, but it isn’t cramped - I just always appreciate a wide setup in the forefoot.

Skechers M-Strike® เสริมประสิทธิภาพและความนุ่มนวลในการลงเท้า และกระจายน้ำหนักทั่วฝ่าเท้าได้มากยิ่งขึ้น Jeff B: The Bondi has been the max king of the road for years, but I think it may have been dethroned. In head-to-head, the Bondi platform is wider, with the interior space is much tighter, especially in the arch and toebox. The MR6 midsole is miles better, feeling both more dynamic and overall much more cushioned. The Bondi upper is more breathable, even though it’s a heavier shoe. The MaxRoad 6 was a 70g jump from v5 for my size, a near-3oz jump, which is a lot to swallow. I expect a lot more wow from the ride and i didn’t quite get enough of a ride improvement here. Mac is a former 275 lbs American football defensive lineman who took up running at age 30. Now, at 6’4” (193cm) 220 lbs (91kg) , he has PRs of 19:19, 1:33:34, and 3:19:20. He coaches high school runners. David: The Skechers GOrun MaxRoad 5 definitely comes more alive in the new model. The midsole remains the same using the supercritical EVA hyperburst foam and the pod design to the outsole. The new feature is the H plate in the forefoot. This firms up the platform through the midline of the shoe and then through the medial and lateral aspect through the forefoot. This is noticeable throughout the ride. Even though there is the H plate there is still some flexibility through the forefoot that helps give some snappiness at the toe off. The shoe still rides better at easy paces and at daily paces for me, but can handle a little bit of uptempo work in the new model. The ride is still pretty soft throughout but gives a little bit more ground feel and stability thanks to the plate. The Go Run Maxroad 5 has one X factor; the midsole is very soft yet very responsive. Even with the H-carbon plate fiber infusion, the forefoot is exceptionally flexible. I wanted to like the Max Road 6 more than I did. It pales next to its stable partner the Ride 11 . Overall not a lot of fun to run in, though very protective. I think the Ride 11 is pretty much as Max as I can take. Peter: The Max Road 4 was a near miss for me. It felt a bit unstable, gave me some weird blisters, and was ultimately too soft for me to enjoy running in. It reminded me of some other shoes that I felt like I should like, but seemed to sap some energy. While I love Hyperburst in the Razor line (and the new Speed Freek), it seemed unwieldy in the Max Road 4. Lo and Behold, the Max Road 5 is a truly excellent update. The folks in the lab at Skechers Performance figured out how to tame this big old slab of Hyperburst and it’s a really nice shoe.

Matt: The Skechers GOrun Maxroad 5 fits me true to size in my normal US men's size 10. The width through the length of the Maxroad 5 is slightly on the performance side. The heel and midfoot are a hair snug with a little extra room in the forefoot/toebox. There is more volume in the shoe than the previous version and overall has a more trainer like fit. Despite that, the laces work very well with the upper if you want to tighten them down more. To maintain the flexibility of the midsole, in a pod-style, Skechers strategically placed a Goodyear hard rubber on crucial abrasion areas; including the toe zone, midfoot, and heels. There is a good amount of the Goodyear rubber in the heel and toe-zone. Also, in pod-like fashion around the midfoot and parts of the forefoot area. Peter: I sink into the Clifton and it robs me of momentum and energy. The Max Road 5 does not have that issue. Max Road 5 all the way.

Peter: The 5 felt a bit mushier and, for me, a bit easier to run in. The 5 is about half an ounce lighter than the 6.
