About this deal

Slaanesh armies have some really interesting options now. The Contorted Epitome is still great, and Daemonettes are big winners in the points department, and got a major upgrade in Engine War from Razor-Sharp Caress. Seekers also got a boost and are worth a look and when combined with Fiends, there’s some really good options here if you can build a game plan around trapping enemy units in combat as a way to protect yours during the opponent’s Shooting phase, then eviscerate them by fighting first in the Fight phase.

Keeper of Secrets • Herald of Slaanesh ( Infernal Enrapturess) • Daemonette • Seeker Chariot of Slaanesh • Fiend • Steed of Slaanesh • Seekers • Hate-Angel • Contorted Epitome • Lady of the Voids • Ruination of Imperfect Beauty But otherwise, I think you are right about the ratios. If only taking 1-2 unit of Pinks, do the correct 1:2 ratio of Pink:Blue and 1:1 ratio of Blue:Brim Overall Chaos Daemons did pretty well in the points adjustment! I was probably a bit too harsh on them in our original assessment of factions immediately following our review of the Munitorum Field Manual points update. The real question is how they play.B) I highly doubt I would even need the exact ratio of Brimstones, so having a few that are "imitating" their older bros is not only funny, but practical. Daemon Prince • Furies • Soul Grinder • Daemon Engine • Daemonic Herald • Chaos Spawn • Chaos Beast • Mutalith Vortex Beast • Brute • Shrike • Behemoth • Imp

Soul Grinders are the real deal, getting to choose from 1 of 4 special shooting loadouts depending on their God mark. The most intriguing option is Nurgle’s Phlegm Bombardment, which has Indirect Fire to clear out objectives that you can’t get to with your melee units. It also gained the Scuttling Walker rule to walk over friendly Monsters/Vehicles and terrain less than 4” in height. This is very situational, but is still cool. So I have 60-odd Horrors, and intend to add another 20 or so (mostly Brimstones), and that seems reasonable and manageable. Oh don’t get me wrong, I know what I said earlier and I certainly don’t mean to start them all on the table all at once. Indeed, I’ve determined that I don’t intend to likely ever begin with more than 2-3 units of Horrors in my armies anymore. In addition, I’ll likely stop bringing the Portalglyph (once a staple) in my Tzeentch Daemon armies altogether, and as I said earlier, I’ll probably rarely, intentionally, summon more Pink Horrors. That said, Brimstones are quite a bit different than Blue & Pinks, so simply changing the base might not be the ideal solution for all Horrors. Using a medium-sized brush, apply the base colors to each part of the miniatures. For example, you can use a bright blue like Caledor Sky for the blue Horrors and a vibrant red like Mephiston Red for the red Horrors. Apply the paint evenly, covering the entire area, and let it dry before moving on to the next step.

With all of that out of the way, let’s dive into the datasheets. To make this section easier to follow, we’ll break down the units by their respective Gods. Unmarked UnitsBlue Horrors, also called " Spinning Sourguts," and " Grumblers," are diminutive replicas of their parent Daemon, though their temperament is quite different. They are sullen and malicious, like evil-tempered children, and wear perpetual scowls as they sneer and grumble their way through a battle. We’re like unicorns — rare, cute and on fire. Whaddya mean the burning bull guy didn’t actually set them on fire? We can’t go deep on every option, but these are a few more things you might want to think about when building armies.: edition is here, and with it a whole raft of changes to the factions of Warhammer 40,000. With the Munitorum Field Manual out in the wild and the Faction FAQs released, now’s a good time to start taking a look at what’s changed for all of our favorite armies. Today, Robert “TheChirurgeon” Jones is talking about Chaos Daemons.

Casting vindictive glares at their enemies and blasting them apart with mystical fire, Blue Horrors are as resentful and bitter as their pink cousins are gleeful and capricious. Muttering glumly, Blue Horrors cast azure flames from their fingertips, stomping and protesting as they do so. Should a Blue Horror be slain, it groans and flashes into flame as a pair of Brimstone Horrors replaces it. So many people (including myself) keep forgetting that the Loci bubble rule does NOT apply to the Locus of Creation. The Loci bubble applies to 3 specific Loci listed in its rule To more simply clarify, as I can be wordy and not always explain things well, pink horrors are stronger and "better"(but still terrible for melee combat) and also can also cast spells but blue horrors are numerous.Plaguebearers return almost unchanged, losing 1 AP on their Plagueswords in exchange for letting you retain control of objective markers after they walk off of them. Using a wash such as Drakenhof Nightshade for the blue Horrors and Carroburg Crimson for the red Horrors, apply it to the recesses and crevices of the miniatures. This adds depth and shadows to their features. Let the wash dry completely. Chaos Rhino • Chaos Predator • Infernal Relic Predator • Chaos Vindicator • Chaos Land Raider • Chaos Land Raider Proteus • Infernal Relic Land Raider Achilles • Land Raider Hades Diabolus • Relic Sicaran Battle Tank • Maulerfiend • Forgefiend • Defiler • Brass Scorpion • Blood Slaughterer • Blight Drone • Foetid Bloat-drone • Kytan • Plague Hulk • Venomcrawler • Myphitic Blight-hauler One of my favorite changes is the return of Instruments to their 8th Edition and earlier form, as they now provide +1 to Charge rolls for units that can take them again. With Icons improving Leadership by 1, both upgrades provide real benefits for the units carrying them.
