Orchard, Chris (30 December 2013). "Research upholds traditional Prospect Hill flag story". Patch . Retrieved 3 July 2020. Queens’ College scarves are green with two white stripes. When made to the traditional colours, the green in Queens’ College scarves is darker than the green in Girton College scarves. Other scarves for clubs within college are here.

Unlike large, open area excavations this project is a smaller scale evaluation, carefully designed to target areas and specific archaeological features so we can maximise the information we are able to collect. The county has an area of 3,389km 2 (1,309sqmi) and a population of 852,523. Peterborough (179,349) and Cambridge (145,674), located in the north-west and south respectively, are by far the largest settlements. The remainder of the county is rural, and contains the city of Ely (20,112) and towns such as Wisbech and St Neots. Cambridgeshire contains six local government districts; five are part of a two-tier non-metropolitan county also called Cambridgeshire, and the district of Peterborough is a unitary area. The local authorities collaborate through Cambridgeshire and Peterbrough Combined Authority. The county did not historically include Huntingdonshire or the Soke of Peterborough, which was part of Northamptonshire. Our use of these geodemographic data in our contextual flagging system has been developed in light of research conducted by the Cambridge Admissions Office over several years. However, the University recognises that communities are not uniform, and that the geodemographic classifications associated with an applicant’s postcode may not accurately reflect their individual circumstances. Therefore, we take great care in the way in which we use this information, and don’t consider it in isolation from the rest of the application.Gonville and Caius College Council has decided that only the College flag will be flown from the flagpole (02/02). This brings an end to the six year tradition of flying the pride flag and more recently the progress flag that was flown during LGBT history month last year. In the sixth quarter ( Duchy of Lorraine), the alerions are an allusion to Lorraine. An alerion is supposed to appear similar to an eagle with no beak or claws, but in many instances of the college arms they look more like eagles. In the 1575 grant, they were described as Egles. The King's father, Prince Philip, was Chancellor of the University of Cambridge for 35 years, from December 1976 to June 2011. The design of the Colours is strikingly similar to the flag of the British East India Company (EIC). Indeed, certain EIC designs in use since 1707 (when the canton was changed from the flag of England to that of the flag of Great Britain) were nearly identical. However, the number of stripes varied from 9 to 15. One theory on the origin of the design is that the American colonists would have known and been familiar with the existing EIC flags and that this may have influenced the design. [13]

This regressive decision is of huge detriment to work to improve access, diversity and equality by so many at Caius over the past years.” MCR member Anthony Bridgen, who raised the pride flag, posted on social media: “They [the college council] attempt to justify this as not wanting to make a ‘political statement’, which is an implicit admission that the fellowship considers LGBTQ+ equality a political stance and not a fundamental right. Recording is an essential aspect of any archaeological project and the careful method of cleaning and defining the timber that we’ve been describing is the first step in this process. With everything ready in the 1.5m transect by the end of the week, we began using photogrammetry to create a record of the layer of timber. Another student told Varsity: “Our existence is factual not ‘political’; our existence is natural and beautiful; and our representation is not a ‘cause’”. The third quarter ( Kingdom of Jerusalem) uses gold on silver, a combination which is rare in heraldry, being an exceptional breach of the Rule of Tincture. The four small crosses are here shown potent, although versions with plain crosses can also be found: René and his predecessors used plain crosses, but crosslets potent were used in some contemporary representations of the arms of Margaret [ Royal MS 15 E VI, f. 3r at right margin], in her Royal Seal, and in the first seal of the College; in the 1575 grant these small crosses are not described as potent, but are drawn potent in the marginal painting, and appear potent in the 1575 carved coat of arms in Old Court. Quarters 4 to 6, in the lower row, represent Dukedoms:All the data we use are derived either from publicly available sources, the DfE, UCAS or from information provided by applicants in their application. These three types of contextual data are presented to our academic assessors in the form of several ‘flags’. This system enables us to assess applicants holistically, and may result in ‘flagged’ applications receiving particularly careful attention during the initial application stage. These ‘flags’ are also used during the winter and summer ‘pooling’ stages of our admissions process, where applicant files are examined by other Colleges to ensure that the best applicants receive an offer of a place regardless of the College to which they applied or were allocated. Furthermore, some of these ‘flags’ have been used as part of our eligibility criteria for August Reconsideration Pool. Malim, Tim (September 2010). "The environmental and social context of the isleham hoard". The Antiquaries Journal. 90: 74. doi: 10.1017/S0003581509990485. S2CID 161572936. The group, which has called themselves '‘staff and students of Cambridge University", projected the protest onto King's Chapel at King's College in Cambridge on Friday night, November 3.
