About this deal

The following afternoon, the neighboring jazz band starts rehearsing, prompting the playwright to march next door to request silence. Standing in the foyer, he discovers his neighbor’s wife is, in fact, the same woman he intruded on at the bathhouse the other day. (What’s more, she’s the jazz band’s singer.) Shibano’s attempts to quiet down the rehearsals come up short, and he ends up being treated to a session of uplifting songs; which, to his delight, provide him with the inspiration he needs to finish his play. I am a huge fan of all of Tony Parson’s novels but this one takes the cake, absolutely his best work. I recommend you get this one in your hands or on your tablet asap! Tony writes so well and always is able to draw you in and keep you attentive and on the edge of your seat. This one is no exception. If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death. What do you do when your perfect life spins out of control? A gripping psychological thriller from bestselling author Tony Parsons.

I cant quite explain the brutality yet tenderness of this book at different times but can say it will stay with you and its one of my top reads of the year. If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. If a man commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. What puzzles me is the indeterminate time Lana (and co-writer 'Denoy Punio' (qv)) spends on Aaron's character. Understandably, his character is the more interesting of the men, since in the beginning he was an faithful husband looking for that one great successful venture that would seal things nicely. As he gradually becomes obsessed with Jasmine, the character of Bullet takes to the sidelines. And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. I think fatherhood was a turning point, same as everybody else, becoming a parent is a big step and losing your own parents, whenever that is, you realise time is limited. A was in my mid twenties when I became a dad, quite young, and even then didn’t get the sense that time was finite. I really thought there was limitless time to get things right, then my dad was dead, we were getting on alright, we probably would have had a few more heart to heart conversations about stuff if we’d have known that was all the time we had. He was sixty-two, younger than I am now – that focuses the mind. It’s a gradual dawning, not a blinding revelation, about time running out. I saw something the other day saying you should have a really great party when you’re seventy because when you’re eighty all your mates are dead. If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must surely be put to death. This fantastically crafted story has more twists and turns than a bowl of truffle pasta 🍝 😏 and I am absolutely here 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 it 👏🏻 The characters are undoubtedly human as we learn just how fallible they can be, even Tara’s seemingly perfect husband, Christian reveals some pretty dark tendencies... If a man commits adultery with another man's wife or with his neighbor's wife, both he and the woman must be put to death for their adultery.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy. All opinions are my own and totally unbiased. If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. A brilliant psychological thriller that delivers everything a good novel should. A big five stars from me! Indeed, Deuteronomy gives a quite different reason from Exodus: oddly enough, the reason, the exodus. It states (5:15): ‘And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.’ Jun Lana' (qv)'s 6th directorial work, MY NEIGHBOR'S WIFE (2011), is a marital melodrama that starts earnestly enough, has weepy parts in the middle, but doesn't know how to wrap things up in the finale.Yes, I think there’s always the pull between home and freedom. Everybody feels safety and temptation, it’s like the great human dilemma. You don’t have to stray very far from the path to fall off the cliff. It could spiral out of control and that’s really what this is about, about a situation completely running out of control and spiralling away. There’s Tara’s initial fear of making a speech and it all comes from that, the worry of humiliating herself in public. This left me feeling annoyed and completely pissed off! It's so upsetting how the events in the plot played out, probably so I could have some sympathy for a lying-cheating-mess of a woman like Tara. Damn. The outcome of this book was so unfair. I didn't like it. It took me a ton of patience to finish this. I hate Tara. I hate how the other characters were written and portrayed to be shallow fillers and diversions.
