The Popples toys themselves were originally made by Mattel in the 1980s. There were lots of different types of Popple – basically for the Tv programme to help with plot no doubt! There was PC (Pretty Cool) Popple, Party Popple, Pancake Popple, Puzzle Popple as you can see alliteration was a big thing for them! All the popples were differently coloured. For example Puzzle popple was a medium-sized male of the “species” with orange fur, green hair, and blue and red ears Billy and Bonnie are taking a letter to the post office, but the Popples are too cheeky to join in as well.

As far as toy reboots the company Toymax started making the Popples again in 2001. They released new characters that still looked a bit like the old ones and a bunch named after celebrities such as Jessica Biel and Melissa Joan Hart of all people. Yes Shelly Duvall aka Olive Oyl and the biggest aka ever; WENDY TORRANCE IN THE SHINING. How the hell was she involved with making the Popples?Putter is a 8" male Popple with green fur, orange hair, pink cheeks and contrasting red and blue ears.

Bonnie, Party, Potato Chip and Prize are having a pillow talk. Meanwhile, Billy and P.C. have other plans to stop them. The Popples help Bonnie choose a book to take home. This episode marks the first appearance of Bonnie, Party, P.C., Potato Chip, Puzzle and the librarian. Potato Chip is a 8" female Popple with yellow fur, pink hair, pink cheeks and contrasting lavender and magenta ears. Pretty Bit is a 8" female Popple with lavender fur, hot pink hair, pink cheeks and contrasting pink and blue ears. Going head to head with Tommy, Billy is entering his plane to a plane flying competition, with Putter riding on it.

Pufflings: A sub-species of smaller Popples. Pufflings are unable to speak, but communicate with others with a high-pitched warbling sound. The Pufflings like to hop and bounce around and sometimes give out joke tags that one of the Popples will read out loud. The six Pufflings have white, dark blue, red, purple, light blue and yellow fur. It's Moving Day and Billy and Bonnie meet their new neighbors and friends Mike and Penny. Meanwhile, all the Popples meet Mike and Penny's new popples and hold a very special parade at their house. This episode marks the first appearance of Mike, Penny, Punkster, Punkity, Bibsy, Cribsy and the Pufflings and the last appearance of Pancake. This episode is also the season premiere.

There were numerous variants: Flower Popples (who would turn into flowers when you flipped them inside out), Pillow Popples (wearing pajamas and turned into sleeping bags), Fruit Popples (who turned into different fruits), and Special Editions with limited distribution (including an animal series only released in Europe with Popples that resembled a parrot, dog and rabbit), and Costume Popples who were wearing special outfits and turned into something related (example: a ballerina Popple that turns into a handbag). Puffball is an 11" female Popple with white fur, yellow hair, orange cheeks and contrasting blue and magenta ears. Penny and the Popples are visiting the zoo. The Popples are having so much fun, causing madness and mayhem at every turn, meeting animals and playing. This marks the last appearance of Penny, Party, P.C., Puzzle, Punkster, Punkitty, Bibsy, Cribsy and the Pufflings. This is also the final episode of the series. FYI this wasn’t happening with the toys, it’s from their mythology just so we’re clear. If your Popple made those sounds, we have some real problems. Cribsy: Another Baby Popple. Cribsy is pink, and wears a striped white and blue hat with a matching bib and booties and even her eyelids are blue.
