A bit like a standard washing machine - if you overload the Scrubba you are unlikely to get your clothes washed as thoroughly as they could be. Empty dirty water, and rinse with clean water. You might need to rinse it twice if a lot of soap remains. Another alternative washing method I do with REALLY dirty clothes is keep the dry bag open and just use it as a container essentially. Then I just use my hands inside the bag to use my hands to directly agitate it in the water. We tested the Scrubba with three small towels. We attached soiled swatches to the towels and followed the instructions, using powder detergent. We removed the swatches from the towels after using the bag for three minutes. After drying the swatches, we used a spectrophotometer to read how much soil had been removed. Just as you do with a standard dry bag - roll the opening of the Scrubba down as tight as possible to prevent any leaks. Then clip together. Step 3 - Deflate the Scrubba using the valve

We’ve found these materials give the Scrubba Wash Bag a crinkly and plastic-like feel, but it’s clear that Scrubba has thought long and hard about everything going on here, and it all comes together really well. Usage & Benefits Rolled Up & Compressed Scrubba Wash Bag At the time of this review, we’ve been testing the Scrubba Wash Bag for just over a month, and it’s seen plenty of use on our travels around the UK. Impressively, it’s still looking as good as new. Scrubba Wash Bag Craftsmanship Close the vent after deflating the bag…unless you want to spray yourself and your surrounding environment with soapy, dirty water. Yes, the Scrubba wash bag is definitely worth it. It could be a bit pricey but for its performance, it is hard to find a good alternative to it.The Scrubba Wash Bag even has benefits over a washing machine too. By washing your clothes inside a Scrubba you’re using far less water, and it uses no energy (apart from a tiny bit of your own, of course). For smaller loads, this thing is also a lot faster than a washing machine, which is a huge bonus. Durability & Testing Here’s a closeup look at what the internal washboard looks like. What we don’t like about the Scrubba The Scrubba Wash Bag is a product that you can use whether you’re camping, hiking or overlanding all around the world. As it is a hand washing machine, you will have to wring and rinse the clothes by hand after you have washed them. Otherwise, they will be left wet. Plus, you cannot use powdered detergent or bleach to wash your clothes using the Scrubba. For the longest time hand washing our clothes was our main method of keeping our clothes clean on the road. We’d travel with a universal sink plug, washing powder and a pegless clothesline, and would wash our clothes whenever they needed them in our hotel room.

There we have it, nice and simple. And other than being able to wash your clothes anywhere (which is awesome), we found the Scrubba Wash Bag has unique benefits over other washing methods too. This might not be a huge issue, but whenever you don’t have access to liquid detergents it would be a challenge to use it. As for the TPU coating—TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane—all you need to know is it’s used for waterproofing, plus it helps make things resistant to tears, abrasions, and overall wear. Scrubba Wash Bag Mini MaterialYou might be wondering if it’s actually worth buying this. After all, can’t you just keep hand washing your clothes in a sink, or using laundromats around the world? But as you can guess, it is up to you whether you are going to use liquid detergent or powdered detergent.

However, for larger and heavier clothes, you have to wash one item at a time. Is The Scrubba Wash Bag Worth It? On our last trip to Mexico, we rented a condo through Airbnb. Unfortunately, I booked in a hurry, and didn’t notice that our condo didn’t have a washer or dryer. Argh! Of course, this really isn’t the Scrubba’s fault, since this is a problem no matter how we wash our clothes. I’d absolutely love to see some sort of way to dry clothes faster while we travel, other than our tried and true method of squeezing water out with a dry towel. I’d definitely pay if Scrubba came up with a gadget, like a portable laundry wringer, to do this! Pour in a small amount of clean water and shake the bag a little bit to give everything a good rinse. You can then dispose of the water as above. Step 7 - Wring out and dry your clothes Don’t forget to turn the Scrubba inside out and allow it to dry as well. How much can you wash in the Scrubba?Scrubba also makes a “tactical” wash bag that was designed in consultation with a former Australian SAS Team Leader, which according to them is “perfect for military, outdoor adventurers, disaster relief, zombie preppers, and superheroes.” While we can’t imagine Captain America or The Hulk using a Scrubba Wash Bag (we will keep an eye out in upcoming superhero films) this thing does look ideal for the military with its extra-large valve and brown color. 40D Nylon With TPU Coating On The Scrubba Wash Bag The Scrubba is pretty easy to use. Just add water, laundry liquid and clothing. Roll shut, and release excess air. Then rub gently to wash, rinse and then hang clothes to dry. If you’re washing a pair of jeans or bulky pants, you would want to do that as a separate “load” and agitate it by hand without closing the dry bag.
