The Brother T420 isn’t available in the UK at the moment so information is limited. From what we’re seeing, the minimum GSM support is 80, this could be what causes the feed issues. We do have the Brother HL-L2370DN, which can handle media up to 230gsm through a manual feed slot. This is also a small, desktop printer. Thank you for your question. It sounds to me like the Printer needs realigning. This can be done through the printer itself. Different paper weights are referred to in gsm which stands for grams per square metre. If you were to take a sheet of paper that was one metre by one metre and weigh it, the weight of that sheet of paper is its gsm value.

I’m looking for a color laser printer that can handle 200gsm (250gsm if possible) synthetic paper – melting temp of the media is 302F Unless your printing project specifically requires a laser printer, we would not recommend this for 300gsm matte paper printing. This material will be cut and despatched as soon as possible. However, please allow up to 4 working days for despatch as the workload of our guillotine operators varies from time to time (working days do not include weekends or bank holidays) I’ve had a look at your requirements and the best option I can find is the Oki C824dn, it can print up to A3 but Duplex up to 220gsm through the Multipurpose Tray which can hold up to 80 sheets. The best printer for this paper weight and texture is the Canon iX6850. I have provided a link to the Canon iX6850 printer below. We would recommend 2 printers.
