Description

For the ANSI test we used the monitor's Gaming mode. The X35 is the first FALD panel we’ve measured that benefits from its dimming feature in the ANSI test. Asus' PG27UQ and Acer's X27 measured the same whether dimming was engaged or not. In the X35’s case, we saw a 19% improvement in intra-image contrast. This figure will vary depending on the average brightness of the content you’re viewing. And it will change with the three different dimming settings. this test, we used Gaming. Regardless, this is excellent performance. Access your profile by selecting Action / Racing / Sports profile in game mode. GameView specifications and features may vary depending on model and/or region The Acer Predator X35, along with its counterpart by ASUS, was one of the most anticipated gaming monitors due to its combination of 512-zone full-array local dimming solution for exceptional HDR viewing experience and NVIDIA G-SYNC up to 200Hz for buttery-smooth performance. Another thing to keep in mind about VA panel displays is the viewing angles. While they are advertised as 178°, they’re not quite as wide as that of IPS panel monitors.

Acer Predator X35 Review | PCMag

This is an ‘sRGB emulation’ mode which significantly restricts the colour gamut. The image appears quite anaemic in many respects, with the highly restricted colour gamut and low central gamma really restricting saturation levels. Long time since your last driver update? Hardware makers are constantly tuning their drivers for peak performance. You're likely due for a fresh update. Users may want to run the monitor at a lower resolution, such as 1920 x 1080, due to their system or the game title not supporting the native 3440 x 1440 resolution of the monitor. As usual for G-SYNC displays, the monitor doesn’t provide any sort of scaling support using DisplayPort. PC users can leverage GPU scaling through the GPU driver instead. Scaling capability is provided via HDMI, though, which would be appropriate for some devices such as games consoles. As a PC user, if you would want to ensure that the GPU is handling this scaling rather than the GPU, via HDMI, you need to configure the graphics driver correctly. For those rare AMD GPU users who opted for this model, it’s automatically handled by the monitor when gaming, by default. Nvidia users should open the Nvidia Control Panel and navigate to ‘Display – Adjust desktop size and position’. They should ensure that ‘No Scaling’ is selected and ‘Perform scaling on:’ is set to ‘Display’ as shown below. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, four USB 3.0 ports (3 downstream + 1 upstream), an audio line-out port for the headphones and two 4W integrated speakers. This method is hassle-free and recommended for most users. Yet, if you're chasing the latest driver or Windows Update doesn't have the one you need, it's time to shift gears. This effectively increases the contrast ratio to ~7,500:1 for SDR content and to over 100,000:1 for HDR content. As a result, you get incredibly vivid details in the highlights and shadows of the picture. This mod is a labor of love by an avid tabletop RPG player who wanted to bring their long-standing character's race into the Baldur's Gate 3 and D&D setting. Originally intended as a personal mod, the creator decided to share it due to popular demand. The mod offers ten different subraces, each with unique initial bonuses and breath weapons. Of course, the mod gives players the ability to take on a Dragon form, which grows in size and strength as the character progresses in level. Additionally, the mod includes several spells that can be obtained through leveling up, as well as a unique female body type option for strong female characters. Customization options for Dragon scales, tails, and horns are also available. The mod introduces a variant of Half-Dragons specifically for Dragonborn characters, allowing players to enjoy their esthetic while retaining the perks of being a Half-Dragon.

Acer Predator X35 Gaming Monitor Review: The Best of the Best

Switching electronic devices off and on again may seem like the solution for a myriad of tech complaints, but what happens when you restart your computer? First, let’s consider the difference between a computer shutdown, restart, and sleep, and hibernate mode. Shutting down a computer ends all processes and clears RAM and processor cache. It also cleans any accumulated temporary files that can hinder performance over time. Similarly, a restart shuts down the computer, disconnects all power, then reboots the device. The operating system completely resets itself during this process. Watching a 1080p on a 4k display isn't that bad since they share the same aspect ratio and we have decent 4k upscalers. A sturdily built product with an immersive screen size and a resolution and aspect ratio that delivers a nice experience for both work and play

Talking about the structure, it is an 1800R curved display that features a 21:9 aspect ratio. This is considered to be ideal for supporting high-resolution, optimal performance. It offers superb contrast and brightness that you will be able to adjust depending on your personal needs. Keep in mind that the display is VESA-certified and HDR 1000, which further contributes to the quality of the image you will be looking at. Before diving into the update process, knowing exactly which graphics driver version your device is currently running is crucial as it helps: We’ll also compare it to the ASUS ROG Swift PG35VQ, which uses the same panel and offers similar features. Image Quality As usual, if you’re running the monitor at 3440 x 1440 and viewing 1920 x 1080 content (for example a video over the internet or a Blu-ray, using movie software) then it is the GPU and software that handles the upscaling. That’s got nothing to do with the monitor itself – there is a little bit of softening to the image compared to viewing such content on a native Full HD monitor, but it’s not extreme and shouldn’t bother most users.
