But that all kind of misses the point – here’s the complete viewing experience, from projected screen to speaker output to Wi-Fi powered movie delivery, in a single device half the size of a Pringles can. I have spent the past few months using the Nebula Capsule Max indoors, outdoors and all around. And I’ve been regularly using the Capsule II for close to a year.

Until someone who owns either lists the products used, nothing is verified to work. Just explaining why it won’t simply work just because some portable charger can do 15V does not mean it will do 15V. How the hell would it know from 5 9 12 15 V which to use? So USB 5V 2.4A, if it steps up becomes 15V (3 times voltage) but 2.4A is stepped down (3 times smaller) to 0.8A The audio is surprisingly good, especially when you consider that the Capsule Max — and the Capsule II — is the size of a pint glass.As with most portable projectors, the Anker Nebula Capsule II has a side hustle as a Bluetooth speaker and it will just about out-perform a mobile phone. The most probable outcome is it will not work. Sometimes if there is no successful protocol negotiation, the default of 5V will be offered. 5V is not 15V.

Picture was tested from a distance of about a metre, giving about a 30 ins picture, to 3 metres giving about 100 ins picture, and in the dark room it looked fine at either size. Note I haven’t mentioned adjusting the focus of the projector? That’s because you don’t need to, it has a brilliant system to automatically focus and perform keystone correction (where the projector is at an angle to the projection surface). The contrast ratio is how well your projector manages light and dark images on-screen, highlighting the difference between shadows and bright lights together so you get that sharpness in your shows. You want this ratio to be as wide as possible so you don’t lose clarity if you move it out of a dark room. The quality of the lamp will affect the contrast ratio, and in most cases, it will be fine to enjoy movies outdoors in everything but direct sunlight or perhaps an evening movie as the sun fades.If you are planning to go bigger, then expect a more pixellated effect and lower brightness. This thing is not a 240 volt 3000 ANSI lumen home projectore. All in all sound quality is not bad for a portable solution where compromises have to be made, but it is not comparable at all with specialised solutions or even just with a decent TV. Volume can get to fairly high levels, though with some compromises in quality as there may be some slight distortions. You don’t need a speaker when using the Capsule Max and the quality and volume are enough to satisfy most people, but a dedicated setup connected via Bluetooth is certainly going to deliver much better quality and immersion.
