Description

This is your AS18, entry level compressor, same design (if not spec) as the Iwata, only the Iwata is in a carry box, this isn’t.

AS186 Compressor - Any Good? - International Scale AS-18(2)/AS186 Compressor - Any Good? - International Scale

Is the old one the one with pressure relief valve in red built in direct with the silver strait bar on the rear and plates either side. This compressor is suitable for household and hobby use. Fengda Compressor AS -186 can be used with airbrush spray guns which have nozzle diameters of 0.2 mm - 1 mm . The cylinder stabilizes the air avoiding pulsing. If less noise is very important, you should go with a Paasche D3000R Compressor. It is actually just a more expensive version of a generic AS186, but quite a bit silent and more sturdy.

So, I was wondering if anyone here uses one of these compressors or has heard anything about them, good or bad? Or if there is another entry level compressor that would be a better fit to general modelling requirements. Like I said, if possible go with the new AF186 for the added cooling. You could probably live without it, but better to have it and not need it than having your thermal shutdown go off in the middle of airbrushing. Hopefully that’s enough info to get you started and thinking about your own specific needs, what you want to do with it, how you want to work, and whether noise is an issue in your work area. We’ll cover the setup you need once you’ve got your compressor nailed next time, starting with the actual airbrush itself. The second type is direct, basically the motor compresses the air, and pushes it straight down the hose to your airbrush at your chosen pressure. That motor is running whenever you’re spraying, and the air pressure is controlled by a regulator. This is a device in the setup that makes sure the air pressure stays at the psi you set it at for the task at hand. When buying partner items like this one, your contract of sale will be with our Range Plus Partner instead of us. The compressor is less important than the airbrush, but I recommend not saving here. A version of the AS186 will not cost you super much, but any cheaper and you will get either: something that breaks down, does not have good enough air pressure or that is very noisy. 2. A tank and auto on/off But besides Badger, I have not seen issues with the other big brands. Other great compressors for airbrushing miniatures

The big advantage of this compressor over the AS-18-2 compressor is that it has a pressure tank that will reach the desired pressure and then turn off. switch 2: Max pressure at 6 BAR. Safety valve: releases the air pressure automatically when the pressure isover 6 BAR in the air tank. It will allow you to hook up two airbrushes at once. This is nice if you change between a big and a small version a lot, but other then that it is not super relevant. But it as an amazing compressor, but the price is also set accordingly. Looking for and Airbrush with that? Another advantage of AS -186A is it's low noise output, so it can be used in the evening at home. Thanks to its low weight it can also be used as a portable hobby compressor. So get a compressor with a water trap. It is the small plastic thing on the left of the compressor on the image above. 4. A way to regulate air pressure (PSI) and enough air power to airbrush miniaturesOutput from the regulator is a standard 1/8 BSP connector to fit most airbrush air-lines, which is an improvement of many compressors that have a 1/4 BSP fitting and hence require an additional adaptor to fit the airline. Now, there are a tonne of compressors around, and these are split in to various types that can be confusing. There are two types initially, ones with air tanks/reservoirs, and ones without. The ones with, have a motor, that compresses the air, to a specified pressure, in a metal canister. Once its full, the motor stops, and you have a box with air in it set to your chosen psi, meaning you get a really nice, smooth flow of air. Soon as you begin to use up the air, the motor comes on and refills it automatically. Initial charge time for the air tank was 95 secs, reaching an indicated pressure of 4 bar (57 PSI) as per spec. I then held the airbrush valve open - the indicated pressure gradually dropped down to 3 bar (43 PSI) at which point the pump restarted. A collar on the drain tube on the bottom of the regulator can be lifted to release the air pressure from the tank and drain any condensate from the regulator water-trap. The old AS186 had the bent air line with vents on the ends of the "motor" casing. No idea if the one with plates is actually newer or just a different version.
