The multiview feature is a fantastic feature to have, and really makes you feel like you’re behind the controls of a professional TV setup. Recording directly to HDD and streaming without needing a computer are also two great features that are worth exploring. It took me about 30 minutes from opening the box to seeing my live cameras on my monitor, including setting up 2 cameras, tripods and mics. Not bad considering in the past I’ve had to spend more than a couple of hours doing this exact set-up in the past with broadcast HDV cameras and BNC cables passing through multiple systems to get the exact same end result.

Everybody is still in a euphoric state of mind about this Atem Mini Pro. I must admit that it includes me. However I can think of a few minors. I bought the Atem to reduce my editing time by changing to more 'live editing' during the broadcast or recording and to be able to live switch camera's without problems. I mainly record or live-stream smaller (sports)events. you will need to connect your ATEM Mini Pro to your computer via Ethernet. This is quite easy, as you can connect a network cable direct between your computer and the ATEM Mini.x 10 Views including left right configurable Program/Preview, 4 HDMI inputs, Media Player, Streaming Status, Recording Status and Audio Meters. Even though streaming is built in, you can also use the USB as a webcam output if the USB connection is free, so you can use a computer to live stream via video conferencing apps such as Skype and Zoom, and streaming apps such as OBS. All ATEM Mini models automatically set the program output to match the format and frame rate of the number 1 video input signal it detects. This eliminates the need to select the video standard for the switcher because the ATEM Mini will do it for you. All you need to do is connect your camera to input 1 and the ATEM Mini will follow its video standard. Obviously, if you’ve got a hard drive plugged in to the USB-C port, you can’t use the Mini Pro with your PC. Thankfully, you can still control it over Ethernet, but you won’t be able to add it to OBS or any other software without a direct connection.
