Also, I suddenly understand why Maisie is the way she is. With a mom like that? Poor Maisie, I hope that she doesn't end up to be like her mom. |Like with the other book I knew quite fast what was going on, that this was just a case of, as we say in Dutch: "Wat de boer niet kent dat vreet hij niet". And that maybe these kids should learn to see the difference between reality and FANTASY. If you or anyone else like mystery stories, but also like funny ones, this is the book for you. It made me laugh, mostly because it has a lot of jokes.

Attack of the Demon Dinner Ladies: (Baby Aliens) by Pamela Attack of the Demon Dinner Ladies: (Baby Aliens) by Pamela

Pamela lives in Dundee with her baby boy and their two awesome cats, Bear & Carlos. If she wasn't working as a writer and a teacher she'd like to open a luxury hotel for stray cats. It's very easy to read. The story is easy to understand and catch up with. I think it would also make a good read-aloud. Where I quite loved the previous one and the antics the kids went through and also their imagination, in this one I actually disliked the kids and how hurtful they were against Amy, the dinner ladies. How far their imagination went to even think that these women were evil, that they were demons. That they would do ANYTHING, even accuse the dinner lady of poisoning (instead of thinking it is an allergy to avocado or whatever else was in that mix that Jodi's mum put on her face). Really, imagination is nice, but if you see conspiracies everywhere, maybe you should just see a doctor. They really hurt a few people here, and I was just so sad for Amy and her mum/the dinner ladies. They did their best to make something new and special. And really, is it so weird for people to wear those hats or goggles. Do you want hairs and such in your water or food? Um, eww, no. Home > Izzy and friends wonder if she is the reason for the strange behaviour. They wonder why she has returned. They find out she was fired. They speculate as to why and decide she's a demon who's returned to do bad things. Because why wouldn't she be?Izzy and her friends have never liked school dinners. And they're getting worse. The dinner ladies are acting strangely (making up random rules, wearing hats and cooking new food, even more horrible than usual). Lollipop man mentions there is a new head dinner lady and calls her 'a bit of a legend' (in a bad way) and that she used to be here a long, long time ago and has returned. This book was interesting with all the facts Izzy came up with about the dinner ladies and that made me wonder if the dinner ladies at my school were normal until I read the ending of the book. Her top selling stories include The Spy Who Loved School Dinners which won the Blue Peter Best Story Award and My Head Teacher is a Vampire Rat which won The Children’s Book Award. Two of her books, Petunia Peri and There’s a Werewolf in My Tent, were shortlisted for the Lollies – the Laugh Out Loud Awards.

Attack of the Demon Dinner Ladies (Baby Aliens) : Pamela

Izzy and her friends do NOT like school dinners (although I do). The school dinners at their school are gruesome, and ever since the new head dinner lady arrived, the meals are more gruesome than ever. Why are so many seagulls flying around school? What's with the eyeballs in the water jug? And how is it possible to explain the head dinner lady's glowing eyes...? Izzy and her friends have never liked school dinners. And they're getting worse. The dinner ladies are acting strangely (making up random rules, wearing hats, and cooking new food, even more horrible than usual). Lollipop man mentions there is a new head dinner lady and calls her "a bit of a legend" (in a bad way) and that she used to be here a long, long time ago and has returned. Thomas Flintham (Illustrator): Thomas Flintham studied BA Fine Art at De Montfort University and in 2009 he graduated with a distinction in his Masters degree in Illustration at Camberwell College of the Arts, South London. Thomas works digitally, drawing straight into his computer with his Wacom tablet, and in the old fashioned way on paper with brush and ink and drawing pens. He loves to draw and doodle. He has a very loose grip on reality, and enjoys disappearing into his own imagination in search of new characters, worlds and ideas to draw. His work is influenced by his interest in all kinds of books, films, comics and Japanese video games. He loves Christmas and chocolate. He owns (almost) too many books. Sure, maybe the school could have done a bit more education or a lesson on the new food stuff and what they meant so that everyone knew what to expect. Then again, the kids could have easily asked what was in the water or what all the fancy food was meant to be. They have mouths, they can ask. : So yeah, interesting idea, but I was just mostly frustrated with the crap these kids did and how far they went. Quite disappointed as I bought this book and I now wish I hadn't. *sighs and waves bye bye to the 9 euros the book has cost her*Her top selling stories include The Spy Who Loved School Dinners which won the Blue Peter Best Story Award and My Head Teacher is a Vampire Rat which won The Children's Book Award.
