The Premiere LSP9T fully implements Samsung’s excellent Tizen smart TV interface – the one used on most new Samsung TVs these days. That means you get the same economically-presented menus at the bottom of the screen, complete with pop-up content views above selected apps. It's not a native 4K projector, despite the branding; it replicates 4K resolution by quadrupling a 1080p output. This won't be the best option for recreating true Ultra HD, then, but it does have a 4K effect that should look more detailed than lower-res models. Then there's 3D. Showing images in 3D for educational, business, and home applications seems well past the boomlet it enjoyed a few years ago. But if you're a fan of 3D movies or have an application that requires 3D, it's still easy to find projectors that support it.

TV Vs Projector: Which Is Best? - Which?

The BenQ TH685P is a prime example of why specs don't tell you everything you need to know. Despite offering nearly identical specs to the BenQ model it replaces, this 1080p projector delivers an obviously better image with HDR input. That's a big thumbs-up in a gaming and home entertainment projector at this price. It also impressed us with its audio, thanks to an onboard 5-watt chamber speaker that pumped out quite usable sound quality at high enough volume to fill a large family room. Who It's For

Korean/English/French/Spanish/German/Italian/Swedish/Portuguese/Chinese Simplified polish/Brazilian Portuguese/Russian/Greek/Arabic/Turkish/Taiwanese For presentations, the LH730 offers vibrant color in graphics and crisp, highly readable text. For movie and video clips, it easily matches entry-level home theater projectors for color accuracy, contrast, and shadow detail, and it even supports HDR10 and HLG HDR. We saw too many rainbow artifacts in movies and video from the DLP imaging chip to recommend it for long sessions, but for short clips as part of a presentation, it delivered high quality and few enough rainbows to easily ignore them. Who It's For Being able to take advantage of Samsung’s processing know-how also helps the LSP9T handle sub-4K content superbly well, too, adding density and genuine detail – to, say, HD sources – without the results looking forced or fake.

It can retain that sharpness when there’s motion, too, thanks to the LSP9T carrying a projector-optimised version of the motion processing systems Samsung has been refining on its TVs for years now. You need to handle the motion processing with care, as the higher powered settings can cause distracting processing side effects. But the lowest setting does a good job of reducing judder without causing too many unpleasant trade offs. For instance, very dark scenes can take on a rather grey appearance, especially if they’re in HDR and a bright highlight or two has to share screen space with darker patches of an image. This is especially true if you’re using the projector’s Movie or Filmmaker Mode picture preset, so much so that I don’t think many users will particularly enjoy either mode. Despite the UHD Alliance-approved Filmmaker Mode – the LSP9T being the first projector to be certified to use this – being designed to deliver a more accurate picture based on typical mastering standards. That said, if you’re building a home theater and want a projector that can stay stationary, then it’s worth looking at projectors that you can hang from the ceiling. Considering how new ultra short-throw projectors are, you could probably find a traditional projector with a similar image quality for a whole lot cheaper. The Premiere LSP9T’s ultra short throw design, 2800 lumens of laser-driven brightness, support for the latest 4K and HDR picture quality standards, powerful built-in audio system, and built-in tuner and smart system make it a true rival for a king-sized TV – especially as it produces mostly outstanding pictures. The projector is super quiet too. There is fan noise, to be sure, but it’s easily drowned out by speakers, even at lower volumes. LG has done a great job at ensuring the projector runs largely distraction-free. Final verdict

Picture quality is better than the P8 in some ways, worse in others. The Vimgo P10 has a great contrast ratio and decent brightness, but the color is remarkably terrible. The center of the image is noticeably sharper and brighter than the rest of the image. It's not great. Models listed as home theater projectors are typically optimized for traditional home theater viewing in a dark room. They tend to offer more accurate color, better contrast, and lower brightness than home entertainment projectors. Most don't include speakers. The assumption is that you'll set up a better external audio system in your home theater than any projector can fit into its case. Choose from a range of networks and inclusive monthly plans to get started with your new Galaxy phone straight away. Color accuracy and shadow detail were better for SDR than for HDR in our tests, but it handled HDR well enough to deliver a watchable picture, which is more than many 1080p (1,920-by-1,080-pixel) resolution models with HDR can manage, and it can accept and downconvert 4K (3,840-by-2,160-pixel) input, so you can watch 4K HDR video and movies. One other key plus is the onboard rechargeable battery. Using it lowers brightness and usable image size, but the 2.5-hour life is enough to let you watch a full-length movie. Who It's For

Three-chip LCD projectors are free from rainbow artifacts, because the three chips allow projection of all three primary colors at once. However, they tend to be bigger and heavier than comparable DLP models. Standard-size LCOS projectors, also rainbow-free, offer the best-quality images, but they tend to be bigger and heavier than either DLP or LCD projectors, as well as far more expensive. There aren't many laser raster projectors, so it's hard to make general statements about them. But the one clear advantage of using a laser is that the image doesn't require focusing. The optical requirements of an ultra short-throw projector limit what the LSP9T can do in design terms. Within those limitations, though, the LSP9T actually looks pretty nice. Most projector manufacturers divide their projector lines into categories. Common names for models meant for home use include home cinema, home theater, pro cinema, home entertainment, gaming, streaming, and smart (which is usually just another name for streaming). For business use, the common (and mostly interchangeable) names are business, education, and data projectors, which I'll refer to collectively as business projectors. The key point to remember about the LSP9T’s picture niggles, though, is that they’re arguably a necessity with current affordable laser technologies, and a side effect of the explosive strengths of the projector’s impactful and remarkably TV-like pictures. Audio performance Shutter: The shutter is one of the most important components in a projector headlight, and it's something that classic reflector headlight housings just don't have. This component is inserted into the light beam from below, which causes a sharp cutoff and effectively aims the light at the road instead of allowing it to blind other drivers. In some vehicles, the shutter can be raised and lowered to switch between high and low beams. As projectors have become more widely used, they've also become more specialized. A model intended for showing business presentations in rooms with bright lighting, for example, needs higher brightness than one designed for watching movies in a dark room, but it doesn't need the same level of contrast or color accuracy. Viewing experience: many people feel that due to the larger screen size and less overall brightness compared with a TV, projectors can actually give a more comfortable viewing experience. Just as with the cinema, the picture is also typically more immersive.

But while they may not get as much press, the company is doing the same thing with projectors - and, earlier this year, it announced a newly re-designed ultra short-throw projector called the LG HU85LA CineBeam ThinQ.Anker Nebula Solar Portable: We didn't like the Solar Portable as much as the BenQ GS50, Xgimi Halo Plus or even its sibling, the Mars II Pro. Its main disadvantage compared to others on this list is its relatively dim image, which means it can't project as large a picture and still look good. If you want a sleek, budget-friendly portable with 1080p and plan on keeping the image on the small side, however, this is a solid choice. Read our Anker Nebula Solar Portable review. Even 1080p projectors that can accept 4K UHD input handle it reasonably well. Because the higher resolution has exactly four times as many pixels as 1080p, the only loss in quality from scaling the image down will be the equivalent of a slightly soft focus. If the projector also supports HDR10 (the version of high dynamic range, or HDR, that's on discs and some streaming services, including Netflix) or HLG HDR (also supported by some streaming services), it can give you the advantage of HDR for improving image quality, even with 1080p resolution.
