Zorg (Jean-Hughes Anglalde) is an aspiring novelist with a novel in manuscript he has given up all hope of ever seeing published. But she believes in him and, using only two fingers, types out the manuscript with painful slowness, and, with an heroic persistence, continues sending it out to the publishers despite receiving a steady stream of rejection slips. And here-in lies the tragedy ; at the end of the film, when she is dead to the world and past caring, her efforts bear fruit and the manuscript is accepted. How happy knowing this would have made her. But too late.Lancashire plays Joyce much warmer than Maggie Smith, which in some ways highlights the tonal difference between the show and the film. Anyone who can play a sexy, house-proud Northern matriarch whilst singing big, show-stopping numbers, all the while adding an emotional heart, a dry wit and a beautifully composed showbiz smile, gets my vote! Reece Shearsmith in Betty Blue Eyes. Photo: Roy Tan Betty Blue was Beatrice Dalle’s first acting role, which is quite extraordinary when you watch her. She steals every scene, not just because of how she looks, but her facial expressions are just so alluring. Her eyes sparkle with excitement like a little girl; seconds later, they are full of sadness. We learn early on that Betty is wild but that men have badly wounded her. Some may say she’s contradictory—she wants male attention for sure—she wears just an apron when she arrives at Zorg’s place with her suitcase, but it is only Zorg’s attention she wants; she’s not interested in anyone else. Feeling sexy makes you sexy; it’s just a fact of life. And feeling sexy feels good. Yet, it is male attention that gets her into trouble from the beginning. She is fired from her job by her boss after he touches her and she spurns his advances. As a 14-year-old who had just been sexually assaulted by a friends father, Betty’s unwillingness to allow men to do whatever they wanted with her, purely because of the way she looked and chose to dress was very powerful to me.

A review of Betty Blue Eyes at the Novello Theatre in London Sarah Lancashire as Joyce in Betty Blue Eyes. Photo: Roy TanAccording to the director Jean-Jacques Beineix, the relationship between Jean-Hugues Anglade and Béatrice Dalle went far beyond a simple professional collaboration. "They were flirting all the time. It's clear that we didn't know if we were in the movie anymore. They lived an extraordinary story." [10] Release [ edit ] The pain lies in imagining the long and happy life they might have had together, but for this thing that mad people have, whatever it is, gnawing away inside her mind. No explanation is attempted of why she was the way she was, no revelation of some childhood trauma or of some past bitter experience. We are left to assume that she had some brain or genetic defect. Nor are we given any psychiatric diagnoses. It is mentioned at one point that she is neurotic, but then aren't we all? She mentions hearing voices in her head which is the classic symptom of Schizophrenia, but her other behaviour doesn't fit the pattern. Nor does her behaviour fit the pattern of the Manic- depressive. who, surely, is subject only to mood-swings not to sudden and violently wild outburst of behaviour. So we are left to ponder the nature of madness. It makes you think and it's all interesting stuff. I understand this way of thinking so clearly. It may be that her opinion of herself was so low that she had to find hope in someone else, which, of course, isn’t healthy. But she does it out of love just as much. I remember buying my ex a computer so he could learn Computer-Aided Design. His dream was to make video games. He’s now a manager at Xbox in Seattle. While we split a long, long time ago, I still feel so good about this. It makes you feel a little like an angel when you do things that help steer people down a path of success. It is not about the credit; it’s pride—the joy of watching from the sidelines. Other people’s achievement can be a reward. Forse il mondo è troppo piccolo per lei" Betty Blue" is, on the surface, a love story. Underneath the surface it's the quintessential story of an artist and muse. Zorg is the artist (in this case, a failed writer) while Betty is the muse, a powerful, passionate force that suddenly drops in on him, adoring his simple scribblings to the point of obsessive madness, forcing her own passion upon him and driving him to write and believe in himself even though he barely knows or cares what he's doing. He simply wants to hold on to Betty as if his entire being depends on her because he knows what a rare force she is.

Bettys Gebbi, auch ein fav Moment, plus in dem Kapitel erfährt man wie alt die Protagonisten sind Wikipedia hat keine Ahnung Writer-director Jean-Jacques Beineix's film follows the sad life of Betty and her lover Zorg. From the steamy beginning of their relationship to the bitter end, we share in their heartache. This story has tragedy written all over it. It’s a great new musical, but the problem is the vast majority of people want to watch a show made of up songs and stories that come from their own CD and DVD collections. Our music features bring you our thoughts and opinion on everything about music. It could be that we love a particular band or artist so much that we just have to write about them retrospectively. Perhaps something has happened in the music world that we need to talk about, more than just a news item, but something we need to deep dive into.In music, a "blue note" is a note which departs from the expected major scale and instead goes minor (flat). You've heard it a million times in blues or jazz; it's "that note" that makes you go "oooooooh". In the film "Betty Blue", a meticulously crafted, deeply symbolic, allegorical tale of passion and madness, there's a wonderful scene where the 2 main characters slip away from a funeral wake in the middle of the night, find a room of pianos and play an impromptu duet. In this scene, the man and stable component of the relationship, Zorg, plays a chord progression while Betty, the volatile component, comes in with a simple melody hitting that powerful blue note.

Stupefacente il lirismo di alcuni passaggi Joyce ( Amelia Atherton) and Gilbert ( Sam Kipling) are a true joy to watch. They’re instantly loveable and you find yourself invested in their story immediately. Not only is it their stage presence and chemistry that charms, but their voices are spectacular. Kipling’s performance of “The Kind of Man I Am” is one of the highlights of the show. One of the perks of a smaller venue is the chance to witness the power of an ensemble up close, and this group of performers sure do give a good show. Mr Metcalf ( Kane Stone) deserves a particular shout out; his enthusiasm is hilariously infectious. And Josh Perry as Henry Allardyce somehow manages to make revelations about his true feelings for Betty heart-warming – rather than deeply disturbing, a real talent. Zorg helps cut her hair into shape, now becoming almost a father figure to her, seemingly in denial of how mentally unwell Betty has become. She begins hearing voices and spends hours staring at the stars. The loss of hope, a loss of something she never had, and the constant pressure of having to live up to men’s expectations pushed her over the edge. It is hard to say why Zorg didn’t get Betty Blue the help she needed. Possibly because he was in denial, maybe selfishly not wanting to lose her. Whatever the case, it set her on the path to tragedy. Women have the crazy cat gene, too, and only a fella who's never lived with one would wonder what the hell I'm talking about. Women might deny it, too, but that's expected. Jean-Jacques Beineix's "Betty Blue" is about such a woman, only her cat gene is starting to ruin her life and the lives of those around her. It''s horrible to watch the gorgeous, luscious-lipped Beatrice Dalle come apart at the seams and plunge into madness, but it's the stuff of a great movie, and it's why the film is so engaging. Whether there was ever any intention on the part of Jean-Jacques Beineix to make a film about the struggles that women face every day I cannot answer, but he achieved this in the most colourful of ways. Betty Blue ultimately examines a problematic relationship between women’s perceived and experienced madness, demonstrating that style and substance can be inextricably bound—but it shouldn’t be. How Betty dressed, her sexual confidence and her no-nonsense attitude did not make her crazy; it was how she was treated because she dared to be herself that drove her over the edge. Its an engaging thing, a rather delicate and rich journey within the thing, a well crafted love story. There are a hundred intimacies here, and most of them not directly involving the two romantically. Yazarların "yazar karakterleri" her zaman ilginç gelmiştir bana.
