Then in the summer of 2015, when my four year old daughter blew a dandelion at my head , I had a sudden idea for a story that I couldn't stop thinking about. And that was Bloom. The book has some amazing photography and a powerful message of recovery and determination, yes it can be seen as being over sentimental but life is harsh enough as it is, its good to see a victory every now and again - and this is not to make like of what happened there is still a long way to go but at least now there is something worth fighting for.

the romance. there was genuinely no reason for the two mcs to like each other at all, let alone fall in love. Hector deserved so much better. She bit her lip, then gave me a grin. 'Must be,' she said. 'You never know. Oh, and guess what? I found someone who can fix the patio. He's coming tomorrow, with a fresh load of concrete.' Anaya's parents give her a small glass of red wine (she's an older high schooler). Anaya's cool smoking friend offers her a cigarette. She tries one puff, coughs all over, and decides it was a bad idea. And that's pretty much it. Besides that, I find this book quite tedious as it does not put an end to the story. It progresses and jumps from one event to another without concluding. None of the characters was as pleasant as I expected them to be, except for Hector. The plot was off and I just could not find myself enjoying it.I could not get enough of this beautifully executed— both visually AND in written word— queer lovvveeeee story!!

I would love to have something like that... To be on a team with someone... And to be better together than you could ever be alone.” When they finally kiss, I'm like, "NOoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! Don't kiss him, Hector!!!!!!!" And that's bad. That's not how you should feel when reading a romance. You should think the two people falling in love are cute, good people, and deserve each other.

But the main perspective of the book is from her husband: how he sees things, how he interprets things, and how he copes with keeping his family intact after his wife's accident.

But there is so much more to this book. I knew of the project long before it was turned in to a book let alone one that had international distribution. The fact that this part wild magpie took to the family and as much adopted them as they did it is incredible but the healing (and I much as much emotional as well as physical) that came about because of it is just as remarkable. That Bloem betrayed Neena for a point. What the hell? This is your best friend. And I get you are all drooly and OMG OMG rules, but friendship should trump that all.
