Lightbringer has risen to become one of my favourite series over the last couple of months, as I’ve slowly worked my way through it. The series has an amazing magic system and some great character arcs, both things that have really pulled me into the world and story. The Burning Whiteis the final chapter in what has been a great journey and it’s fair to say that the ending to this 5-book fantasy epic has been somewhat divisive.

There were also no casualties in this final showdown, which I also think took away some of the tension in the story. All of the confrontations were mostly “good guy wins” and the one major death of the book WASN’T EVEN IN THE BATTLE! Cruxer’s death felt so out of character for him, and it didn’t really have the effect it should have as a result.First-degree burns may feel painful, look red, and may swell slightly.
