Description

On top of the Bushbox LF the included stainless steel Trivets ensure safe standing even for smaller cups and cooking vessels. To use as little plastic as possible, your Bushbox LF comes in a lightweight cotton bag. For regular use, we recommend our Heavy Duty Outdoor Bag Bushbox LF or the matching Leather Pouch Bushbox LF. Various notches allow for the Trivets to be inserted in different positions as required and ensure sufficient air supply between flame and cookware. The Bushbox Ultralight also updrafts the alcohol stoves much better than would be if they were sitting directly on the ground, Basically this means they get more oxygen and burn more efficiently. And as mentioned above, the bottom grill plate can be adjusted so that the flame of the alcohol burner is the ideal distance from your cook pot.

Think of a firebox as simply a tiny, contained and controlled cook fire. It is basically a campfire shrunk down to the size of your cookpot, which makes it incredibly efficient in terms of the amount of wood it takes to cook a meal. The triangular design makes it fairly stable even with a larger pot. The size though is perfect for a camping personal pot as you can see from the video. I chose wood as a fuel because it is the hardest to use on this but it proved pretty easy even with a bit of wind (as you can hear from the beginning of the video). You can choose to use either the top piece or the dents to put your pot on, depending on the size. I needed very little fuel to boil a cup of water and using little biomass is the main purpose of these little stoves. Also add the ashtray collector piece and it becomes isolated from the ground and therefore safer to use everywhere. The Bushcraft Essentials Bushbox Ultralight Stove can be used with wood and other organic material, a standard Trangia burner or even a Esbit. Alcohol stoves come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, from a simple homemade beer can stove, to ultralight titanium stoves like the , to the traditional Trangia-style burner. One huge gray area with firebox stoves is whether or not they are considered an “open fire” or not. While this hardly matters in a place where you can have a campfire, in many parks and public lands, open fires are either restricted or outright prohibited. It's easy to burn low when any cookware(mug, cooker, etc.) is set on trivet. Trivet height is low, so difficult to realize chimney effect. It seems to be a lid when something is set on trivet.
